Pirámide de Itzamatul

I went and got to the 2nd level, started to down pour. Didn’t get to the very top due to the rain. Free to go in, highly recommend visiting the town, this was just a plus and it’s free.

This was a great place to check out and it was free. There was a ton of garbage around the site, and I took my time to clean all of the garbage off around the pyramid. But I still loved the area and all the people around here that live in this city are extremely pleasant and welcoming. I am Buddhist, and although I do not follow the Mayan religion, I prayed at the top of the pyramid to Buddha and also to the Mayan spirits.

Worth scampering up, free of charge, nice views of the town. Can buy some agua fresca at the bottom for those sweet electrolytes

Interesante y sorprendente cómo este monumento de la arqueología ha quedado incorporado a la urbanización de la ciudad. De fácil acceso por su proximidad al centro.

Sehr große Pyramide in mitten der Stadt Izamal.
Leider wurde während des Baus des Klosters in Izamal hier wohl Raubbau an den Steinen der Pyramide getätigt- trotzdem kann man die ursprüngliche Größe noch erahnen.
Der Eintritt ist frei.
Die ersten Treppen zur Spitze der Pyramide sind gut erhalten - um ganz zur Spitze zu gelangen muss man aber dann doch eher klettern weil , wir schon beschrieben, die Steine der Treppenstufen fehlen.
Ein Weg über die seitlichen Terassen, an deren Ende ( um die Pyramide herum) auch Treppenartige Stufen sind ist ggf. Beim Aufstieg oder Abstieg hilfreich.
Für Archäologisch Interessierte auf alle Fälke eine Empfehlung, auch wenn große Teile nicht mehr sichtbar oder abgetragen wurden.
Nicht so rekonstruiert wie andere Maya Pyramiden aber dafür inmitten der Stadt und eben auch nicht künstlich wieder hergestellt.
Es empfiehlt sich festes Schuhwerk für den Weg ganz nach oben mit zu nehmen und ggf. Wasser - allerdings sind im Ort auch genug Restaurant um sich anschließend zu stärken.

Un paseo tranquilo y relajado. De fàcil acceso aunque no conserva ni pinturas ni objetos. Es sòlo para subirlo y apreciar las vistas de la ciudad amarilla, reconocida a nivel internacional por su simetrìa de las calles, su color amarillo de las fachadas y por supuesto por su rica gastronomìa. Vale la pena recorrerlo.

Es una pirámide pequeña, pero fue un gran descubrimiento ya que está entre las calles, enfrente de casas, fue una sorpresa encontrarla ahí, aunque no es muy alta es lo suficiente para sentir su energía y poder ver el pueblito de Izamal desde lo alto y sentir como corre el aire. Muy recomendable.
