Cheng Ho's Cultural Museum, Malacca.

A hidden treasure trove of information on Admiral Zheng He and the history of Malacca in the 14th century. Numerous exhibits including artifacts, dioramas and information panels, all well maintained. Place has 3 storeys and is much larger than it appears from the outside. Over an hour spent there poring through the exhibits, well worth the RM15 entry fee in my opinion.

The manager there was friendly and was happy to spare his knowledge and perspectives of that era.

The Cheng Ho Cultural Museum is a museum dedicated to the great mariner, Cheng Ho, and famous voyages. Broadly, the museum is divided into a biographical section of the life of Cheng Ho, and the remainder to his voyages. The museum goes into great details about the voyages, the organisation of the ships, the planning and control of the fleet and the legacy left behind by the voyages. There are hundreds and possibly thousands of artefacts, some of which are very high quality. This is probably the best museum in Malacca and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone interested in history.

Great museum with a lot of information and a lot to see. Plenty of information in English, and audio and video information too. Describes an important period of the region's history. The staff were friendly and helpful too (hi, May!). Recommended.

A great experience learning about admiral Zheng Ho and his 7 voyages through Asia to the West. Lots of exhibits, so do budget a little more time.

Wow... thank you for showcasing these treasures here. There are so many things n some display lying on the ground. There seem to be some renovation work going on, I hope the museum get its recognition n appreciation it deserve. Spent over 1.5 hours here, had to go coz times up to check out from hotel.

I've been bringing sch grps to Cheng Ho for many yrs & I can say they hv rearranged their displays & its alot better now..
History made better

Wow! What an amazing museum. There are so many wonderful displays and such rich history about the great admiral/explorer Cheng Ho. I loved seeing all the boat dioramas and I really learned a lot of interesting history.

Surprisingly educational museum and a much better experience than the Flor de la Mar museum. The exhibit is a bit old but well maintained and provides a lot of information in English & Chinese.

Must visit to learn Cheng Ho historic achievements

A must visit in Melaka that provides informative and educational materials on its history and how Melaka is tied to Cheng Ho 600 over years ago. My teenage daughter enjoyed it.

A very comprehensive collection of exhibits depicting the voyage and historic significance of Admiral Cheng Ho. Every visitor in Malacca must not miss visiting this museum. A must-see for the younger generation.

If you're looking to see beautiful miniatures and learn historical information about Malacca and the Chinese ancestry, this is the place for you. It's gorgeous buildings make it fascinating if you like historical sights.

A musuem dedicated to Chinese hero Cheng Ho (also known as Zheng He) that also expands on Chinese maritime tradition and strategy during the period of his voyages across Asia and to the West. Its a much bigger musuem than it appears, and I feel I got my moneys worth for €3 per person.

Great recommendation and is a must-visit. We love the atmosphere and thank you for the friendliness and assistance.

he Cheng Ho Cultural Museum is a museum dedicated to the great mariner Cheng Ho and his famous voyages. You can find thousands of artefacts and still in a good quality. This is probably the best museum in Malacca.

We were told that there was renovation in progress, but it is possible to visit museum anyway. We haven't spotted a lot of renovation going on, though. The museum is interesting, but I'd recommend to read the history of Cheng Ho before visiting, because some stands are not really informative, and moreover it is pretty hot inside and you would not want to spend extra time reading.
I guess there going to be air conditioning after the renovation.
