My recent stay at Shangri-La Hotel in Kota Kinabalu was truly unforgettable. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff who made sure that every detail of my stay was attended to with care. The room itself was spacious, elegantly furnished, and equipped with all the amenities one could wish for to ensure a comfortable stay. The sea view from my room added an extra layer of enchantment, with its breathtaking view and refreshing sea breezes.

The hotel’s facilities were equally impressive, featuring a stunning infinity pool overlooking the sea, a well- appointed gym, and a delightful kid- friendly pool with slides. However, it’s worth mentioning that we found the breakfast options to be somewhat repetitive over the course of four- day stay.

We were impressed with the housekeepers who keep our room clean daily. Additionally, they fold an elephant with towel and wrote some warm greeting notes to cheer up our days. My girl really happy to see it.

In conclusion, from the impeccable service to the luxurious accommodation and captivating surroundings, every aspect of my vacation surpassed my expectations. I am eagerly looking forward to returning to this idyllic retreat in the heart of Borneo.

We stayed here for 6 nights. We came here in 2022 and returned this year. We have decided to make it our annual holiday destination. Why? Because of EVERYTHING they offer. The service was excellent, all staff were friendly, helpful, and very attentive. The location is great. The view. The cleanliness. We were amazed at how they cater to facilities for all ages. They provide kids' room and a baby area. Don't worry, your children will not be bored here as they have various activities prepared for them every day. They also have a game room for families of all ages. We are also fascinated by the pool, it has shade for younger children. It also has fun water slides and a pool suitable for adults. Our decision to make this place our annual vacation destination is because of the outstanding experience and comprehensive facilities they provide

All 5 stars. I can't find any reason to deduct the rate. Sunset moment at the beach side really worth everything. Me and my kids can spend whole day in hotel to enjoy all the facilities.

Firstly, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to the enchanting Jungle Themed Family Suite, adding an extra touch of magic to our stay. The spacious and beautifully themed suite provided the perfect retreat for our family.

Moreover, the hotel's commitment to family-friendly amenities was evident with the complimentary children's buffet breakfast, ensuring that our little ones started their day with smiles and full tummies. Additionally, we appreciated the eco-conscious initiative of providing environmental-friendly water bottles, aligning with our values of sustainability.

A special mention goes to Front Desk Officers Pennie and Matthew for their exceptional assistance throughout our stay. Their professionalism and warmth truly enhanced our experience, making us feel valued and well taken care of.

Furthermore, the anniversary surprise gift of a delicious chocolate cake and fresh fruits was a delightful touch that added an extra layer of romance to our celebration. It's these thoughtful gestures that set Shangri-La Tanjung Aru apart and make it a destination we'll fondly remember. Overall, our stay was nothing short of magical, and we look forward to returning in the future.

What a wonderful place to stay. The staffs are Very accommodating. Food is good and many restaurant choices. If you are solo traveler and love water activities this place is good for you coz' they accommodate island hoping and more. Also if you travel with family it's a perfect place for you to spend time with your family and enjoy the scenery of a sunset.. will be back if i have time.

Very nice Hotel with excellent location and almost perfect staff, kind and efficient. But there are some bad things: food is not so special for a top class hotel is just average, the so called smoking zone are very few and in the middle of nowhere, you can't smoke under the heavy sun sweating like a horse after a ride, hey manager you're not in Singapore ok? It's an hotel for family and children aren't well educated and so noisy, better not mix with adults.

We find that the staff can only give the most wonderful attention in every space. The Club staff are the very best, as we went there for food all the time. Borneo Lounge we had some meals there, enjoyed listening & singing along with the ladies who came to sing. I believe it was 3 different groups that came, we enjoyed listening to them, clapping along with their songs & after they finished singing.

Spend my honeymoon at there, they even prepared a small bouquet of flower and coklat for us😍 all i can say is it is a good place to relax and enjoy excellent view. Hotel also includes breakfast buffet, the restaurant also provided dinner buffet, but it will be additional charges. The staff are all polite and provide good service.

Best was breakky, fantastic variety, food was tasty and excellent service. Nothing was difficult, staff went out of their way to assist and always smiling and greeting. Overall well led by the managers there. Bravo.

Secondly, rooms all well equiped, showers were the best, full gushing warm water all the time and room service excellent.

Overall recreation facilities were good, played pitching and putting a few times and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

Location so near to all other KK attractions.

Will sure revisit and recommend to all.

Just came to sight seeing. The staff was very nice and friendly. All of the facilities in good condition. Very nice to visit the private beach. The spa environment so nice and calming

Never expect this old aged hotel still well maintained and I believed it could be better.
The swimming pool is always warm so you can always enjoy your swimming time there even though at night time.
The hotel comes with amazing sunset view, that makes travellers visit here to take a nice shot.
A small aquarium at the far end that have few species of clown fish, that can makes ur day!

We had our best experience here as we've been greeted with warmth smiles and extremely good services. It's a good getaway place for family or business. We will definitely consider Shangri-la again in our future trips. Thanks for keeping us comfortable and happy during our stay in Shangri-la Tanjung Aru!

Shangrila beach view is Top 10 sunset in the world! Highly recommended for family trip. We have 2 kids with us. All of us enjoyed so much there. There hv water park (even toddlers friendly)
Nice sunset view, generous breakfast spreads, kids room, play room, big water bucket, infinity pool, water balloon game, ice cream bar, night walk and rest overseeing the big ocean, guests lounge (can rest there even after checked out), fish ponds, tennis court, lots of activities even stay in hotel won’t feel bored at all!
Good hospitality, beautiful and clean hotel. Never regret to spend our Christmas 4 days 3 night at Shangrila :)
But one thing is, the private beach is allowed outsider to come in. Therefore there were too crowded during the sunset time.

Superb location and views. A real seaside resort. So close to the airport and town. Spacious grounds. Lovely pool area. Good place to catch the sunset. Friendly and helpful staff. Very impressed with their collection of Borneo artifacts , museum quality. A good International selection at the Breakfast buffet. I will surely return.

Nice hotel resort, lots going on. Places to eat. Close to airport, but no noise. Rooms a little out dated. We didnt get the room we booked, the hotel was busy!

The hotel is good. The views are very beautiful. The rooms are modest. The breakfasts are good. The beach is clean, there are very few people, everyone is sitting in the pool. When we were in September, I got a jellyfish burn.

I am very happy and satisfied with the breakfast with many choices and the cleanliness of the room and the hotel environment is very beautiful.. really like staying here❤❤❤ for sure we will come back here again

Totally an an amazing experience, especially great for family stay. But the only one thing for improvement is the hotel lift (elevator). It looks old and lacks decoration.

We had a family fun time, thanks to the grounds of Shang and to this specific person whom made our last day a good memorable stay, Azzean from the breakfast buffet crew.

She made us a fresh plate of mee goreng n came looking for us with it!! We were a little late that breakfast morning as we were checking out n coz we had the mee goreng on a previous morning, we were somewhat disappointed to see the wok cleaned, being served out to the morning breakfast guests whom were there much earlier before us coz it’s really that yummy! And then came this crew, She made up for all the other little minor issues we had during our stay but the gesture showed was just too sweet to be ignored. Thank you again Azzean(apologies if I got the name spelled wrongly) but I have a photo attached :)

As for the lobster night, we felt the lobsters were shy that night. They didn’t have enough to go around :)

The beach resort is near to town, restaurant food and room service are wonderful especially their breakfast has lots of varieties. The pool slides are my kid’s favourite, they even allow adult to go on the slides. Hotel staff are all well trained, very attentive and very good service. I have always enjoyed my stay here.
