The online submission & payment process was painful to be honest 😅
Took me half a day to figure out the nuts & bolts & read all the fine prints. It would have been much smoother if the system is linked up better, with more friendly user interfaces.
However, the interview process was smooth & super efficient! In & out within 30mins. Got my visa the next day!
One advice though, pls only queue outside 15mins before your appointment time. No point coming early & jam up the corridor. Even if u show up on your exact appointment time, just show your confirmation slip to the guard & they will let u in immediately.

0900 Interview. Arrived to queue at 0830. Despite the drizzle, which got a tad heavier in spots, the whole process for me was fast. It took me 45min with the queuing time till I exited. Pleased with the efficiency and overall experience was good, as staff instructions were clear .

Best to Grab and get dropped off (or park) at Menara See Hoy Chan, as the Embassy is only next door.

Tips:
1. Don’t take the earliest slot, mine was at 10am on a Monday and I got there at 9.55am, there was no queues and the security let me in immediately.

2. Best to not bring a bag but if you have to, bring a small one and another file for documents. All electronics stuff is left at the first security checkpoint, this includes your phone, smart watches, powerbank etc

3. If you’re taking grab, make sure to stop right before the embassy. Grab drop off is at the gate behind which is closed, so they’ll redirect you to the front.

It was very fast tbh. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The interviewer was thorough but it was less than 5 mins for me, she didn’t even ask for additional documents (it was a work trip).

Be on time. Join the q. Wait for your appointment time to be announced, then proceed to the announcer's counter. Give your passport and. IC. An appointment label with your details will be pasted on your passport. After that ,proceed to go through the check point. You will be given a small basket to place your car key and hp. You will be given a blue plastic with a number so that you can collect your belongings later. Do not lose it or you will have to pay RM50. After this, you will go to the the interview area. The whole interview process only takes 10 minutes. After that, you will get a confirmation letter that your USA visa is approved and can be collected in 3 - 5 working days. To non-Malaysian visa applicants - bring a copy of first page of your passport, as guards do not accept government issued ID of other countries except Malaysia. We brought our national ID card and driving license and still they asked to go and make a copy, which was surprising and takes time.

Other than that overall experience is great and people are very nice and helpful.

Nov last year I went for the interview, everything settled in 30 mins time! Very pleasant experience. Sharing some info here and hope it helps those who is doing US visa for the first time.

My friend and I drove all the way from Johor to KL for this. If u are following Google Maps, it will lead u to the back gate which they won't allow you to enter, there is no parking and u will need to park at car park space nearby.

I alighted at the back gate and walked all the way to the front with my crutches (yes I have some leg injuries, is abit sad but is okay).

My appointment was at 10.30am in the morning, I arrived at 10am and they allowed me to go in earlier (there isn't really any queue that day). You must present your IC and they will provide you a form at the entrance to let you check your details, and once you enter, they will keep all your belonging, only visa related document (not really needed even DS-160 form but i printed all in case) is allowed. Not far from the entrance just walk up a staircase, you will enter a room that has alot of counters that get your thumbprint, ask you questions that's related to your trip, and will let you know on spot whether your visa is approved. My passport photo is different from what I submitted online, no issue for that. Once they inform you the visa status, go back to the entrance where exit is just beside, take your belonging, and all done!

They are strict but all of them are friendly! Hope the above helps!

Well It’s US .. they are superpower.. I have been there 2 times in last 5 years.. both the times my request was approved and did not face any issue.. service was good and security is obviously as per Us standards. Thanks for your service.. gratitude 🙏

Went in at 9.30am, out at 10am with Visa approved! It was really fast. Not so crowded today. Only needed a passport, IC and a photo. The guards at the gate will also look at your appointment letter to see the time of your appointment. Was asked questions like - purpose of travel, with who and what do I do in Malaysia. Very good first time experience.

Keep in mind this facility don't have parking, You can park around 250Mts parking facility in basement in Mall near by. Once at gate as scheduled time u will get Visitor card and your belongings will be scanned and stored. only documents and wallet will be allowed. You can walk few stairs and enter on Left side room. once in Queue at Counter 1 for registration and token number..Attain as per Ur token number submit passport. If Ur Visa is Approve they will retain the passport else if rejected they will return your passport.
Once done just collect your belongings and leave premises as they don't allow to wait.

Bring just one key fob, phone,passport,IC, a visa photo, and apointment form, can use a transparent plastic file to keep your things, BUT NOT a bag (very very small bag might still be okay). Don't have to wear too formal attire,just appropriate one will do,I wore collar T and slack pants. If you are driving,you gotta check parking nearby beforehand and walk to the embassy. !! DO NOT try to park your car at the If Only Restaurant coz they wouldn't allow you ,it's a private parking !! Don't have to be nervous to answer the officer's questions,the normal questions they ask are the purpose of travelling, where are you travelling to in US, where will you be staying in US, what do you do for living (maybe ask you to elaborate abit). Have a nice trip to US everyone!

Just went for my B1/2 visa interview. Arrive just slightly before my appointment time, get your ID badge, go through security. Get your number and then you wait. I had about an hour wait to pass 30 queue numbers. Quite fast. Interview itself lasted about 3-5 minutes only. Very efficient! It’s been awhile since I’ve been here. Can’t wait to go back to US.

The 2 ladies at the embassy was very understanding,patient and friendly during my 4year old passport renewal.
We had a small talks and it put my mind at ease as this is the first time i had to do the process alone without my husb presence plus dealing with a talkative child during the appointment.
Took 11days for me to receive the notification to pick up the new passport.Very fast indeed!

The best drilled counter service I have experienced, thanks to the US Embassy staff. Everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful.

What would I say about my experience of being there...it was a pleasant one! I was granted a visa with a few simple questions within 3 to 4 minutes. Everything including the interview was done within 40 minutes, and yes it was quite fast! I couldn't thank the staff enough, they were really professional and friendly!! Thank you for making my stay at the embassy a pleasant one!

Parked at Menara See Hoy 6RM for 3 hours, fast and efficient. Very friendly Malays staff at the gate & guard house.

Very smooth process. They admit people in batches according to yr appoinment time which is checked even before u enter. Hp must b switched off. Remember to bring passport and IC and supporting documents.

Visited the embassy on 1/31 9am for my H1B visa stamping.
I completed the interview but the officer noticed that my petition was not found in PIMS (petition database) and my photo does not meet requirement. So, they provided me with a letter with instruction for document resubmission via Aramex. I rushed to retake my photo and submitted all the document at PJ Aramex office but missed the delivery time. Note that they deliver documents to US embassy at 11am daily. So, they will only deliver my document on the next business day.
Fortunately, I received notification via email that my visa is ready for collection on 2/7 afternoon. Given that the embassy was closed for 3 days (2/1- 2/3), the total processing time is just 3 business days which is very efficient! Thanks for the great service and pleasant experience!

As it is. Not a tourist place but essentially a government building. Do as what you are told and you should be fine. Come on time on your scheduled interview time and date, produce IC in exchange for a temporary pass. 2 security checkpoints; one outside another one inside, cellphones are not allowed beyond the 1st checkpoint and will be stored by the staff at the 1st checkpoint; once done, proceed to enter the embassy building, expect another security check, do as instructed; then proceed to queue at the first counter to get all of your fingerprints printed, then proceed to queue at the 2nd counter and get ready to be interviewed. Answer all questions promptly and respectfully to the US consular interviewing you; visa issuance is solely up to the discretion of the consular. Interview is normally short and straightforward and should be quick if everything is right. Once done, leave the building, go to security checkpoint to claim your belongings and return the pass; then exit the embassy. Do note that Throughout the process, you will need to produce your passport at all checkpoints and counters for verification.
