Local music shops honestly feel like a dying breed but this is a great one. Went in looking for a tele and got to try a bunch out without any pressure to buy one at all. Sure, you can buy something cheaper online, but buying a guitar is a personal thing and it's best to try out a bunch first. Not to mention every guitar out of the factory can be setup differently but here they made sure that the guitar I picked was set up properly before sending me on my way. I did have a little fault later (not their fault) but a quick 10 minute visit and they remedied the fix. I definitely have a lot of confidence buying from here. If you're in the market for a new guitar would highly recommend this place (plus they have a huge selection)!

I went to Dirk Witte after being to some other guitar stores, with the goal of finding my first ever American made Strat without knowing much about Strats and during corona times. The staff were extremely nice, helpful and friendly. They took the time to explain anything I asked. I could also tell they really love what they’re doing and that they genuinely want to help. I spent hours trying different guitars, took a break and came back later to make a final decision. They were very patient and accommodated the request of also picking the guitar up a few weeks later in turn for a small down payment. When picking the guitar up, as you can see from the images, they cleaned it up, changed strings and piled the fretboard - the playability improved immensely. Overall very impressed and can only recommend this small shop over other larger ones that just try to up sell stuff!

I went in to try two Telecasters because I am looking for one that feels right. I asked politely and was allowed to try them both while left to my own with an amp. The tech who does repairs was friendly. In the end the guitars just weren’t feeling right so I left without one. I sensed absolutely no expectations of a sale nor any intense atmosphere that seems to permeate many small guitar shops in the EU. I appreciated just being able to do what guitarists do which is hunt for a personal feeling instrument. They have an incredible selection of fenders and gibsons and also had some gibson custom shop stuff which was brilliant. Also lots of boutique pedals. Would buy from in the future.

Very helpful and kind crew and adept in repair jobs as well. They fixed up my Fender Jaguar, something other music stores in Amsterdam lacked the skills to do, and they did so for a very reasonable price. I must have spent 5 hours tuning the thing to perfection with them and at no time did they become impatient with me.

Long story short: I am a very satisfied customer and if you want people who really help you with your instrument and take the time you should go to Dirk Witte!

Bought my first (left handed) electric bass here back in June.
The store clerk was extremely helpful, didn't try to push me to buy anything but rather showcased different products and let me decide. That's what works best for me, so I left a happy customer.
I had the same experience when looking for an ABY switch.
They don't have a lot of choice for left handed basses, but they offered to order one for me.
I'll definitely keep buying my music supplies from this store!

This store is one of my favorites music shops I've ever been in! I was traveling in the Netherlands visiting family, and heard about this shop through the internet and thought I should check it out, and I'm glad I did. If you are a guitar nut then this is a gold mine. They take great pride in their use/rare/vintage guitars as you can see since they are scattered about the whole shop. If you are a bass player (as I mostly am) then you are also in luck. Even though their bass department is small they have use about everything you would want. From local luthiers to high end custom shop models, you wont be disappointed. The people there are also just wonderful, all are very informative and let you take your time. I wanted to try a pedal and person helping me suggest that I try 3 other for comparison, so they like it when you try. I must have been there for 2 hours and they didn't pester me once. They have also have an extremely large collection of pedals, from Strymon to boss, they have just about everything that would make a guitarist drool. In terms of price I would say it's a bit on the high side and for somethings (straps, cables, books, new guitars) but low for others (used guitars, basses, amps, pedals). I feel lucky for the people in Amsterdam to have such a wonderful shop at their disposal.

I came here for the first time to change the strings of my guitar. Since I am a begginer, I didnt know how to attach them to my guitar, so I brought my guitar along with me to the shop. Not in a hurry, the guy with his patient showed me how to attach the strings and he also cleaned my guitar as well. Very dedicated. And he shared some tips for taking care of my guitar. I was pleased.

I bought my first guitar yesterday. I wanted a very special modell for beginners that doesn't cost much and wasn't in the shop as a starter pack in my preferred colour. Luc made 3 phone calls with their stock/another shop, each time very alert to every detail making sure I get what I want one day later. Guitar just arrived at my house. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!

Dirk witte is a good music store which offers a variety of vintage and new guitars. The personnel is very kind and actually know what they're talking about. They also have quite some pedals you cant find anywhere else in the netherlands.

Came here to get a broken string on my guitar replaced. The guy not only replaced it for me but also patiently explained how I can do it myself. He also stretched the strings out since it was a new guitar. I totally recommend coming here for your guitar troubles.
