Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden

I really rate this hotel, great staff and very comfortable rooms. The breakfast is very good with staff who will cook to order if you want something a little different. I have only discovered it recently but already it is on my approved suppliers list for colleagues. Wifi is very fast and if you prefer a wired connection there is a socket that works next to the desk.

Very good accessable by car. The rooms are extremely taken care of in terms of cleaning and design. I can't believe the last makeover was in 2017 as everything looks brand new in 2024!

The service/personell is very polite. In the restaurant I made a wrong choice by wanting to share a plate with my wife. I later decided I wanted my own because it was impractical and not enough for me. They toke it as if it was their mistake and we got extra attention and service while the price was very very decent.

I wasn't expecting all of this but this hotel/restaurant combination is of another level!

Best room I have ever stayed in. Whirlpool and dry sauna in huge bathroom. Bedroom on a loft. Living space with fireplace and balcony. This is a must stay location if you visit Leeuwarden with a significant other. Absolutely wonderful hotel and staff!! 5 stars plus!

Best hotel within our last 4 day hotel statys!!! Very spacious room with very spacious bathroom. Comfortable beds, good airco. Quiet location, nice view. Very satisfied with the room. Good sound isolation of the doors in the corridor. We had a dinner in the restaurant, schnitzels were huge and very tasty! Waiting staff was super friendly. Highly recommend this amazing hotel.

Our room number is 124, I have to say everything is perfect, unfortunately the room we stayed that another extra Tom for the kids , which was smell no good , i bet someone was pissed inside at that room! Otherwise everything is so great !

We stayed in one of the suites for a night and it was awesome. The sauna and jacuzzi were very nice. And the way they decorated the room gave it a cosy warm vibe. Just like a home. The flamingo wall paper is something I liked very much but I love flamingo’s 🦩 so that’s not very surprising 😂

I speak english only, and it seemed nearly everyone on the staff was happy to speak english with me.
The room was clean and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet had a large selection,
as well as cooked to order eggs.
I had 2 very good dinners.
I was completely satisfied and happy with my stay.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet place, very comfortable room, good food at the internal restaurant. Very good service, appreciated the attention to the sustainability

Rooms are spacious and well laid out. Modern and new furniture. The large 4k (!) television and couch in the comfort rooms make this hotel especially suited for multi day stays. Also an ample desk with perfectly positioned power outlet and connection for wired internet, very convenient for business travelers. Wifi coverage was also excellent on the free but unprotected network.
Staff was friendly but proper, checking in and out went efficiently. Dinner was excellent, perfect pink steak and a luscious desert. The breakfast buffet was very extensive, so good value for money if you take your time.

Pay attention driving to the hotel. An attempt has been made to clarify the route with signs, but they can be hard to spot in the dark. It's not difficult if you take a look at google maps first.

I think this is the best hotel where I've been in my life. Room is large and clean, staff is kind. I 've stay in this hotel for 2 weeks because of my job, and I would like to return with my girlfriend to have a trip in Leeuwarden and Frisia. The restaurant is good but cuisine is very different from italian one, and I prefer the italian one.

Fantastic room!!!! Service, well, if we asked not to clean the room, but put the garbage outside, we at least expect the new garbage bag to be given .. .as well as water bottles, can be provided too

Beautiful new rooms. Allround super nice hotel friendly staff and a nice city. Plenty of ebikes for rent and they can rent electric boats for you very close to the hotel. They have the best family rooms of all the van der valks in Nederland. The whole family had a great time. My twin girls loved the family room

Brand new hotel with spacious comfortable rooms. Breakfast is very well furnished (large selection of foods) and the restaurant is of good quality. Also good to know: the free parking has several electric vehicle charging stations (Type 2 Mennekes plug). You do need an RFID badge to pay the typical fee for the charge.

Excellent, spacious rooms with very good beds, sofa and bathroom. (walk-in shower AND spacious bathtub. Yeah!) Friendly staff, good food. Still a bit in the middle of nowhere but offers shuttle service to the center of town.

Best hotel I've stayed at in years. Definitely coming back next year

Very comfortable hotel with very good food and friendly staff. We enjoyed our two nights in a luxurios family room. Should we ever return to Leeuwarden, would we certainly stay at this hotel again.

Well placed hotel great food at the restuarant ample parking easy access rooms are nice and big everything is clean and i dont think you can get friendlier staff. Very friendly helpfull all well presented and spoke fluent english

Hotel is beautiful. Very well maintained very clean rooms. Rooms are quite specious. TV. Provided with YouTube enabled TV. Provided 1 complementary drink. Staff was very courteous polite and always helpful.
