Schaloen Castle

We went with a social deal that included breakfast and lunch, with a very nice hiking in between. Totally recommend it.

A lovely place to stay for some peace and quiet. A beautiful castle with adjacent holiday cottages. Only a 20 minute walk from the village center of Valkenburg. The lady who took my booking was very friendly and helpful, and spoke great English. I would love to visit this place again.

Suitable for family and friends. The villas are comfortable and come equipped with a small kitchen. The city is a walking distance which makes the location amazing.

This is a perfect plan for the coronavirus times.

Great place to visit, lots of hiking/cycling routes in the area, food is great and affordable.

Very nice Place, castle from 1656 with beautiful surroundings and also Holiday cottages. For a daytrip or an overnight stay. The cottages are 18th century and simple but cosy. Dogs are welcome.

Beautiful castle. The room we slept in was nice and warm. Breakfast was simple but good. There is also a Christmas market close by that one can visit by bus.

Very well preserved medieval castle. During the time of my review I was only able to marvel in its beauty from outside. However, it is definitely worth the 5-6 minutes biking from Valkenburg to Oud-Valkenburg.

Nice place for walking. The restaurant have really nice and delicious fresh french fries and homemade croquette.

What a lovely place to walk or ride. With a cafe for lovely food and drinks. They even have rooms to rent.

Came for a bike ride around the territory.

Only the service is not that good. But the view certainly makes up for it!!! And I surely recommend the cheese plate.

This place is out of tales! Great for taking a walk with family or having a beer by the small lake.
