Il Bacaro

We came across this gem of a restaurant while in Maastricht on vacation. The owner is passionate about their food, service and ambience, and it shows! The interior is nicely decorated and provides a very cozy atmosphere. I would highly recommend!!

I will strongly recommend this restaurant if you want to find to eat, you will not be regret. The seafood spaghetti, steak are very tasty and delicious, then choose tiramisù and coffee as ending. What a wonderful life.

IL Bacaro servers Italian tapas and is an absolute gem in Maastricht
We ordered: fried sardines that were crispy and flavorful, chicken thighs that were tender and succulent, and the assortment of Italian meats was a treat. The spaghetti carbonara is a creamy indulgence that will have you coming back for more. IL Bacaro has great service - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or just looking for a memorable dining experience, IL Bacaro delivers on all fronts for me.

Nice Italian restaurant in the heart of Maastricht. My sons loved the spaghetti bolonese. Bruschetta was also good. Interestingly, they do not make pizzas, but that was not a showstopper for us 🙂

Really good Italian tapas style food, everything we tried was top notch, and while the whole menu seems great we stuck to the vegetarian options, which are also plentiful. The atmosphere in the terraces was fantastic, and this place gets the sun all the way to 22:00 in June. The service was friendly and prompt, and the drinks not expensive. The owner (I think) came out to greet the guests every now and then, earning this restaurant the full 5 stars. Will keep coming until they change management.

One of the our favorite restaurants in Maastricht. Their menu is different from typical Italian restaurants although having a vast selection of foods. The staff is very professional and friendly. The location is just perfect!

Great atmosphere, including quality food at the heart of Maastricht.

Even though we went without a reservation and it was crowded, the person who welcomed us was very polite and helped us.

Mixed meat cheese starter was delicious. The drink was good. Calamary was different but really delicious. Caprise is also good. The other food is also really delicious.
The servise person is realy quick and kind. We thank you for this night. We will come again from Haarlem.

So good and really nice staff. Even though I can read some dutch/italian and said I was ok with a non English menu the waiter was still really good and made sure I had translated things right and was happy. Excellent value!

We had just drinks, but the service was very excellent! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful 🙂 and you have a good view /overview of the Vrijthof.

I love this place.. Haven't been since 2018 but still the same magic fabulous food and service. Going back for lunch tomorrow.💋
