Festung IJmuiden bestaat uit meer dan 1000 bouwwerken / bunkers.
De moeite waard om te verkennen en te bezoeken..

Naar schatting zijn er in de Festung IJmuiden zo'n 1300 bunkers gebouwd verspreid over circa 80 stellingen. Hiervan werden er 187 bunkers als ST beschouwd (Bomvrij met een muurdikte van 2 meter plus) Ook is er circa 2,5 kilometer aan tankmuren en 7,5 kilometer aan tankgrachten gebouwd. En tot slot ongeveer 900 meter aan drakentanden. Veel hiervan is er na de oorlog weer afgebroken maar minstens een even groot deel is nog altijd aanwezig, zoals deze tankmuur met bunkers.

Echt leuk en je kan er ook echt in van 1 bunker (de grote)

About IJmuiden
City in the Netherlands

IJmuiden is a port city in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is the main town in the municipality of Velsen which lies mainly to the south-east. Including its large sea locks, it straddles the mouth of the North Sea Canal to Amsterdam. To the south it abuts a large reserve of plant-covered dunes, the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. The city is on the south bank; the north bank is otherwise a steel plant and Velsen-Noord. It is 10 kilometres north northwest of Haarlem which is 18 kilometres due west of Amsterdam.
