Madal Bal

Fantastic health food store and supermarket with an incredible range of great quality products including fruit and vegetables, breads and baked snacks, dairy products, pantry items, ready made meals, multivitamins, drinks, cosmetics, cleaning products etc etc.

Almost everything is bio (meaning organic) which is really amazing and inspiring.

The snack zone is definitely worth checking out. I wholeheartedly recommend the entire Billy cookies range.

They have a lot of great gift items also.

In my experience the prices are really good.

The workers are friendly and helpful. It is owned by very nice people who are trying to make the world a better place. Highly recommended.

As a gluten free coeliac with a preference for veggie and vegan foods, this is my favorite place to pick up foods whilst visiting The Hague for many good reasons.

Pictures attached to this review show off the daily fresh gluten free take out salad options. These are offered in boxes of different sizes and are great for tasty nutritious food ready to eat. Also shown are an extensive range of gluten free snack bars and a big selection of gluten free and vegan food in the chilled section.

The rest of the store has a product range similar to Wholefoods in the UK or US. Highlights include lots of vegan foods like non-dairy milks and cheese and tofu, super healthy broccoli sprouts (rarely found for sale) and paleo friendly foods like coconut flour wraps. I particularly like the range of falafel, hummus and veggie dips, all vegan and gluten free and great for food on the go.

If asked in advance Madal Bal will prepare gluten free bread. I have never asked for this but do know that they also supply this to the wonderful Oker restaurant across the road from the store.

Finally, in contrast to the bigger Ekoplaza stores Madal Bal accepts credit card (with a small surcharge for purchases under 25 EUR) and the staff are very happy and able to guide you to that thing you want and cannot find!

Small local supermarket, with a surprisingly good selection of quality produce. It may not Cater for all your needs, but food wise you are fully covered (only not with meat). Very pleasant experience, and staff that are very kind and welcoming. Makes buying groceries a pleasurable experience

A very well organized store for all kinds of daily needs (I bought honey from a huge variety of course). The front counter lady was so kind for the immediate help.

Voor deze winkel en de medewerkers Pradeep, Unmukta, Bhadrika en Pranayani is vijf sterren te weinig. Ik kom vanaf mijn babytijd in deze winkel dat is nu precies 34 jaar. Vanaf mijn babyjaren heb ik een slechte gezondheid en met name Unmukta, Pradeep werkte er toen niet, heeft veel ingezet om uit te zoeken wat voor kruiden medicijnen goed zouden werken voor mijn gezondheidsklachten. Mijn moeder was altijd ten einde raad maar Unmukta en Tulsi hebben altijd van alles uitgezocht.

Jaren later kwam Pradeep, Bhadrika en Pranayani en deze hielpen mijn moeder ook mee voor juiste kruiden medicijnen. In moeilijke en droge tijden mocht en mag ik nog steeds mijn boodschappen op rekening kopen.

Als ik nu op aarde rondloop is het mede door deze 5. Jaren later kwamen er nieuwe medewerkers bij Rabinath, Kasper en met deze heb je altijd een goed en fijne gesprekken en wederom behulpzaam.

Mijn dank aan deze winkel en haar medewerkers voor hun vriendelijkheid, behulpzaamheid, vertrouwen, integriteit en medeleven.

Prima winkel met uitstekend prrsonaal, maar. Zorg dat je niet in handen valt van een Aziatische kleine jonge dame zij is de klantonvriendelijkheid uitgevonden..Nog nooit zoiets onbeschofts in een winkel meegemaakt. En vanochtend was niet de eerste keer...

Een van de weinige zelfstandige ondernemingen in supermarktland. Mooie en vaak ook verrassende producten die je al niet meer bij de Odin of Ekoplaza kunt vinden. Ze hebben daarnaast ook een uitgebreide hoek mineralen en vitamines

Een van de leukste winkels in Den Haag. Groot biologisch aanbod, mooie inrichting en altijd vriendelijk personeel. Als je vragen hebt staan ze je altijd uitgebreid te woord. Ouderwets goede service.

Wat een heerlijke winkel! Het personeel is vriendelijk, de winkel ziet er fris en licht uit en -last but not least- het assortiment is enorm. Ik vind het altijd weer moeilijk om niet teveel te kopen

Mooie (nieuwe) winkel waar ik al jaren even langs ga voor mijn favoriete thee. Er werken alleen maar vriendelijke mensen met verstand van wat zij verkopen. Ook voor gezonde kant en klaar maaltijden (bio & vega) een aanrader.

Prettig personeel, goede sfeer en veel keuze. Heerlijke vegan taart en zelfs supergezonde en vooral lekkere take-way maaltijden.
