Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital

Visited this hospital recently. I am amazed by the clean environment of hospital. Staffs were supportive. This hospital has benefited people around the Sankhu.

Established in the year 1997 at Sankhu in Kathmandu, Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was funded by Interplast, Germany. Hospital spread across 120,000 sq ft of land is operated by a team of highly qualified German and Nepali medical professionals dedicated to provide quality medical facilities to the patients.

The hospital being first of its kind in Nepal, aims to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery services to the patients at minimum service charge. Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital also offers general operation, surgical checkup, dental treatments, physio- therapy, health education, laboratory, X-ray and ambulance facilities along with providing plastic&reconstructive surgery services.

I recently had visit Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital, and I must say, it's an excellent hospital with a peaceful environment. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive to the patients' needs. I was particularly impressed with the hospital's expertise in treating burn injuries and eye-related conditions.

For middle class families like me it’s is the best place to go with best cure. I often visits there for my dental care. They are neat and does best. Doctor and nurse is so interactive that you don’t feel pain. I hope sankharapur government will look to make it huge and with better facilities .Despit of my personnel experience I have also seen the most critical surgeries happening there. This place is located at the corner , should be more highlighted.

I recently visited Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital for my wife's checkup, and overall, our experience was positive. The hospital, located in the serene Shankharapur area of Kathmandu, offers a welcome respite from the hustle and pollution of the city.

What stood out for us was the presence of foreign doctors providing voluntary services, contributing to the hospital's ability to deliver quality healthcare at affordable rates. This is a commendable initiative, ensuring that even those with limited financial means can access top-notch medical services.

The hospital's commitment to training local professionals is evident, and it adds to the overall credibility of SKMH as a leader in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Nepal.

During our visit, we did face some challenges. The registration process, despite our prior registration, had some individuals breaching the line due to a lack of token service. This resulted in an extended wait time, which could be improved for a smoother patient experience.

Additionally, the unavailability of some prescribed medicines in the hospital's pharmacy, without alternative options, was a concern. However, it's worth noting that these issues didn't overshadow the positive aspects of our visit.

In summary, Sushma Koirala Memorial Hospital is a valuable healthcare asset for the community. With a beautiful environment, quality service, and the ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility, it deserves a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. Addressing minor operational issues would further enhance the overall patient experience.
