Red Frog Beach Island Resort

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in early 2023 and had a great time. The accommodations (a tee-pee) were exactly as advertised, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was gorgeous with lots of beautiful beaches and interesting wildlife. We knew were we weren't staying in a fancy 5-star resort, so weren't surprised at the occasional issues with water pressure, the somewhat limited resort restaurant menu and the fact that it would sometimes get busy (and to expect anything more on a small, inexpensive resort on an isolated island is absurd). And we are so excited to be returning for a second visit in a few weeks with more of our family!

I will say however that the "red frogs" for which the resort is named were much smaller than we expected...

It was the most amazing way to start a new year. The place is perfect to spend family time with, and has a lot of plans for everyone.

I recommend the zipline if you like adventure, the spa for relaxing, the restaurant La Rosa is delicious as it has 3 pools and a beautiful beach.

If you like animals you will totally be able to see the red frog in the spa area, the monkeys could visit you around, and you will need to watch with attention the trees to find the sloth bears.

This is a dream vacation! Every villa and condo has a beautiful view. The staff ( lora Justine and Nina) was very kind and welcoming. It is a great getaway from town. But not far just a 15 min boat ride. We have been 3 times and already can't wait to come back!

I went back in 2017, was an amazing experience. The views? gorgeous! The villas? Breath taking. The staff, so so friendly amf helpful. Traveling from island to island was not difficult... just a quick call and they were there to hitch a boat ride!
They have carts you can rent to drive down to the main office for convenience since the villas can be far.
The red frogs and sloths are absolutely adorable! The beach is GORGEOUS!

Definitely one of my best vacations EVER in love with the personal starting from the lady from the reception and the guys from the transportation. The resort is very clean, the beach is beautiful. The village is private, you can feel the peace and fresh air .

Our stay at Selina Red Frog was great because of the lovely people that work there. Melanie and Emily, whom work at the front desk, are super friendly and were helpful with whatever questions we had. They also had great recommendations on things to do around Isla Bastimentos. Aldair and Richard were great bar tenders. The drinks were delicious and their service was friendly and welcoming. Aldair’s exercise class was fun and motivating too! In the end, for us, what made our stay awesome was the great staff working here. The facility is unique and located close to the beach, with the help of a small hike. It gives an eco-lodge vibe, which was different than what we were used to. The food was also tasty. Our compliments to the chefs!

The villas are upscale, fully equipped and beautiful! Its literally paradise. The zip line was awesome and the jungle massage was one of a kind. There are several beaches and all of them fantastic. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We can't wait to return and do some more exploring!

I don’t think there can be a more beautiful place on earth than Red Frog Resort.
The staff are wonderful, my daughter tripped on her first day going to the wonderful pizza bar and cut her big toe. Well the lifeguard is a paramedic and he came and cleaned up her bleeding toe and checked on her each day when he saw her.
The scenery is just spectacular. No where have I seen a facility that compliments the surroundings as much as this resort. The wildlife lives in harmony with the resort. There were monkeys, sloths, parrots, ref frogs, starfish, barracuda, mangroves, stunning beaches; it’s a paradise.
They utilize the rain water, solar panels, give power to the indigenous locals, just a wonderful and most beautiful resort I think I’ve ever been to.

This place was absolutely incredible! We stayed in a three room villa on the island. It had a gorgeous view and a private pool. The villas are built in way that really shows off the natural beauty of the island. There are several restaurants available. The food was great. One thing that really stood out was the staff. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. They helped make the stay enjoyable.

The beaches were beautiful and clean. We walked around the island and found an excellent spot for snorkeling. There is a nice pool and hot tub by one of the restaurants near the beach.

There is a little general store near the entrance that had everything we needed for a reasonable price. Getting around the island was a bit challenging because you had to call for someone to come pick you up. They were generally very fast.

Getting to the island took a little longer we had to catch a flight in a different smaller airport in Panama City. Even though it took awhile to get there, it was well worth it. We enjoyed every minute.

Our stay at Red Frog was truly amazing. The were greeted warmly and shown our villa by Enrique, he answered all our questions and helped us plan our stay. The Villa is wonderful, it's large, upscale, clean, and relaxing. You will have everything you need, even down to clothes detergent. We tried both restaurants and enjoyed both very much. The service was really good. La Rosa has wonderful salads and fresh seafood tacos. You can sit and look out at the waves and enjoy a delicious lunch. We also tried The Point twice and it was really good, great variety of pizzas and salads. All of these great things aside, I did have a medical emergency on the resort. It was totally my fault for not wearing proper shoes and I fell and cut my knee pretty bad. Anyway, the staff at the resort helped me beyond measure. They safely and quickly transported me to the clinic in Bocas and then, when I returned, they did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable and safe and healthy. Juan made an appointment for me in the City for follow up care, Enrique, Santiago, Joel and Juan and others, all did everything in their power to help me. They gave me crutches to use and made sure I could get around and still enjoy my vacation. I must give a very special thank you to David (Deibi), the resort paramedic, he helped keep my lacerations clean and gave me bandages and cream ointment to make sure I didn't scar or get an infection. It is because of him that I recovered so well with no scarring on my face. The attention and kindness was invaluable to me. Please give them all a raise as they went above and beyond for me. I will never forget or be able to repay all those caring individuals at Red Frog Resort. Know you will be safe and happy on your trip here!

We love this place. During June and July it is not busy so you get entire beaches to yourself sometimes. The villas are amazing. A day trip to starfish beach is a must as well. Bring bug repellent and something to take away the itch from the no see ums! Pick up food and body boards in town before you board the water taxi.

This is a beautiful Resort. The Villa we stayed had its own pool. The downside is that the pools are not heated so if there is any rain it is later in the day before it is warmed up enough to swim. The Villa was beautiful . They do need additional furniture in the units as the sound echos where you have trouble hearing each other. The only thing I did not like is that they insist on taking you to and from your unit in this giant truck. They should only use golf carts or invest in the golf carts that seat more people. The Spa is an amazing experience and do not miss this! There is some construction going on because the property is not completely built out. Right now there is only one restaurant and if you want to travel to others then that is another expense. There is a small restaurant nearby at the hostel. They do not allow you at that hostel restaurant to use their wifi It is only for guests. The staff is very receptive and helpful!

This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Just got back from a 5-day stay and I was completely impressed. The villas are gorgeous with great views of the ocean in the distance. Also they're fully furnished kitchens, WiFi, pools and jacuzzis. Great for a group or a romantic getaway for two. The property is well-kept and overall has a very nature-centric ambience. Can't recommend it highly. Can't say enough about the staff— professional, courteous and accommodating!! Don't pass this place up!!

A hidden gem from most. Well worth he visit. Amazing location, water, vibe and energy. A slice of island heaven.

If you stay at the resort, golf carts are must and do have an additional charge, but it is WELL WORTH it.

Stop by Nacho Mama's and PalMar at the end of the resort for some of the best food on the island.

Beautiful place but hard to get to. our villa was in the back away from a lot of the amenities but it was a great stay overall.

Very good place. 100% recommended. Nature and wonderfull views.
Food not very good at restaurant. Better to bring your groceries to cook.

Simply stunning! Words can't express how welcoming and amazing the people are here! I love this place. There's no way I'm not coming back here. So much to see and do and eat! All of it so amazing. Swim, surf, boat, beach, pool. Whatever you want in a resort is here and more! Beautiful and welcoming! Gorgeous. All the other words for ridiculously nice looking. 😀

If you're staying in Bocas, I would highly recommend staying at the Red Frog Beach Island Resort - It was an absolute highlight of our travels through Central and South America.

The Villas are beautifully built, well maintained and each of the 3 units we stayed in gave the feelings of comfort and privacy. Additionally, the staff is so friendly and made us feel right at home.

The best place I went to in Bocas. Very good food. Great relaxing. Only the bathroom facilities were not good. And quite some plastic trash on the beach. But much less than on other beaches.

Beautiful quiet place. I stayed at the marina for 2 days, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good at the restaurant. The Shop was well stocked and had everything you would need.
