A friend took me there. What a fantastic restaurant. It all started with this lovely and delicious basket of little breads, and then followed by what might be the biggest plate of food I ever got in my life. All of it was absolutely fantastic and I'm ashamed I could not take the leftovers to go... Because that's probably what is going to happen to you there, the quantities are astronomical!!

Food was amazing. We have tried all the top restaurants around in this city and here we found the best dish: Alpaca carpaccio was made in heaven.
The taco of guinea pig and grilled octopus were also very good!

The access to the restaurant is via Casona Santa Catalina, next to Tanta and Kuna.

These restaurants share the toilets and the patio.

When you get in the casona there are several restaurants, you get a bit lost where to go.
If you want to sit inside you must go to Chicha. If you want to be on the terrasse you have to go to Tanta….

Good food and good service, you will not be disappointed there

The food and service was amazing, the staff is very tentative to your needs. The restaurant has many traditional Peruvian and fusion dishes for you to try. All the staff speak English in case you are worried about a language barrier. Make sure to get a reservation, you can do it through google.

We had an amazing dining experience at Chicha. The food was great! Our server gave us great recommendations on what we can order. The drinks were great too!! We got the guinea pig crepe, river shrimp soup (which our server suggested would be really good since it was river shrimp season - and it was sooo good), and lomo saltado. All of it was great! The showstopper was the dessert, though!! Absolutely delicious and the theatrics were really enjoyable.

Delicious food with good portions. If you go during the night for dinner and is a bit cold try to reserve a table inside, otherwise you will get a table in the inner patio and is quite cold and the food will get cold as well. Is a bit more expensive than average restaurant prices in Arequipa but is worth it. Nice for special occasions. You can pay with card. Just the drinks are quite small. Very good service, mostly full so try to reserve in advance.

This restaurant came highly recommended and, as I understand, it's by the same chef of restaurant "Lar Mar". Service was terrific and the atmosphere was relaxing. I ordered the Old Style Shrimp Timbal and it was absolutely amazing.

We’re from San Francisco, USA, and this was one of the best meals of our lives. We did the special deal they had where you could choose 5 dishes each for smaller portions and special pricing, so the two of us got to chose 10 dishes total. Each dish was a burst of new flavors and spices, original and Peruvian, and extremely well executed. Our waiter was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The space itself is beautiful. They found out it was our honeymoon and gave us a special dessert. The whole experience was just perfect: the food, atmosphere, new tastes, the waiter, everything. It was an evening we’ll always remember. For Americans, it was extremely affordable at about $70 total for the 10 dishes, nonalcoholic drinks, tax and tip for the two of us. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious! Especially the tiradito and octopus with olive.
A bit on the pricey side but totally worth it 😍

So good that we visited twice in two days. The ceviches were well balanced. The fusion cuy served peking duck style had crispy skin and was fun to eat. And the local chupe had a satisfying texture and flavour.

My only criticism was that the skin of the roasted cuy wasn’t uniformly crispy on our second visit.

The alpaca steak is a must, very delicious and a different texture from other types of meat

The food is delicious and the environment is really good. We ordered lomo saltado alpaca style, Cuy and rocoto relleno. They are fresh and so much flavor. I like the starter bread they provide as well. Make a reservation or you might have a wait here. It’s absolutely worth it.

Best meal in Arequipa! Everything was delicious and I regret not staying longer to try everything on their menu. The setting is also beautiful. The food wasn’t overly expensive so don’t miss out if you are in the city!

Incredible food. Loved the lamb with rice - the quality of the broth that must have soaked the rice is amazing. Loved the octopus - smoky and cooked perfectly. Loved the 3 varieties of bread, very special.

Wow the meal here was THE BEST I had in Arequipa! Jose Cruz, our server, was wonderful. We had the pork belly and adobo and they were made to perfection. Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere, food and service.

We got a salad as appetizer and two stews as main dishes. The salad was just ok, the stews however were great. Although the salad was just ok, I give five stars because the service staff was very patient with us and let us sit there for a long while even after finishing our food.

Note that the stews are very filling so the appetizer is not necessary and you need to be hungry.

Our food was delicious with extremely big portion sizes.
The cocktails we had were very thought out and made with typical ingredients from Arequipa.
We especially liked the service. Our server Mario was very kind and attentive without being intrusive.

Would absolutely recommend to eat here the price performance ratio is absolutely worth it.

Wow this was an amazing meal. The three of us split 2 entrees and an appetizer for $25 US each. Well worth it! Kind and attentive staff and delicious food. The Sichuan guinea pig tacos were amazing - great way to try cuy without having to deal with tiny bones. We also ordered an alpaca steak and suckling pig. Both were very good but the guinea pig was the star.
