I stayed here before and after the Choquequirao trek. Yovana and Eduardo were the perfect hosts, they helped me to organize the trip, were incredibly knowledgeable about the trek and so hospitable. The hotel was very comfortable, quiet and clean and they serve the best coffee! I am very grateful that I was able to stay here as Yovana was able to answer all my questions, help with transport and the view from the room was spectacular. One of
the best experiences in my 3 month trip so far.

Loved staying here! I stayed a night before my Choquequirao hike and then about a week after. The wifi was fast enough to get work done and the view from the hammock was beautiful.

Yovana and Eduardo were perfect hosts!

Gorgeous property. All rooms look out towards the mountains. The property is secure, quiet, and a wonderful place to relax. There are also multiple covered outdoor spaces so it is enjoyable to be outside. I had an amazing stay and the host was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this place.

In my 5 months is Peru this was THE BEST hostal I have been. The hosts are super welcoming, friendly and lovely. They helped me so much for the Quoquequirao trek and support me in everything I needed. The hotel is wonderful with an amazing view over the mountains and the rooms are specious, clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely come back here one day. Highly recommend!!

This place is pure magic. We loved it so much that we stayed for two extra days to soak in the stunning views, delicious food, and quiet tranquility. Yovana is one of the most incredible women I’ve ever met. Not only is she so knowledgeable about the area and Choquequirao trek (reach out to her beforehand if you’re thinking about going and want great beta!) — but she is full of grace, strength, and so much love.

A 5-star gem: Book as many nights as you can at Casa de Salcantay!

One of my favourite places I’ve stayed at in all of South America. The couple who run it are so lovely, and the view and vibe is excellent. Great place to stay before heading off to choqueqirao/Machu Picchu.

The hostess was from the moment we arrived so great! We were welcomed to a great room and some coffee.
The view from the Terrasse is just incredible.
Breakfast was also really good, totally recommend :) we would have loved to stay here longer before leaving for our trek. She also offered to drive us a bit further to the start of the choquequirao, but we started from the hostel.

Had a very pleasant stay here before and after my choquequirao hike. Giovana treated me like a 5 star guest and also the breakfast was prepared at 5 o clock for an early hike start. Clean rooms, great wifi, nice views.
Definitely recommend, I think they are open all year

Great place! Although we had no reservation we received a warm welcome with tea on the spatious terrace (great view!). The rooms are super nice, all with balcony or terrace. Yovana and Eduardo gave us lots of great advice for our Choquequirao trek (where to stop for breakfast, were to camp) and for dinner in Cachora.
We stayed a night longer because we liked it so much there :) And because our plans aligned, Yovana and Eduardo even took us back to Cusco with them - thanks a lot!

Second time here pre and post Choquequirao trekking. We love this place and feel like family. Yovanna makes sure we are well taken care of. From booking a hostel near the ruins to making wonder meals for us. Large, comfortable rooms and hot water showers.

This place is absolutely amazing! Yovana and Eduardo are the best host you can ask for. Very energetic, helpfull and sweet. We stayed one night before our trek and we arrived with the best view, the room is big and very clean and relaxed. We could leave our bags in the room during our hike which was very nice. After our hike we decided to stay 2 more nights. Really can recommend this place if you start your hike in Cachora:D

We stayed here for just one night before the start of our Choquequirao trek and we wish we stayed longer!
Yovana was a true hostess, so helpful, kind and her omelette was divine.
The rooms were very comfortable, amazing view and that all important hot water.
We highly recommend staying here. No complaints!

Such a great stay with Yovanna and Eduardo. Their property is beautiful as are the rooms where guests stay. The view is breathtaking and the breakfast delicious. They arranged to pick us up from Ramal de Chachora and drop us at Capuliyoc to start the trek to Choquequirao. They also arranged our mule and muleteer, Rolando, who was also fantastic. All of this was done for a very fair price as we knew how much it would cost if we'd organised it ourselves, but they took the stress out of everything. WiFi worked perfectly and although it may be a few soles more than other places in town, it is so worth the money. Thank you.

Such a peaceful and comfortable place to relax before and/or after the Choquequirao trek. We liked it here so much that we changed our planned 5-day trek to a 4-day trek so we could spend a second night here before returning to Cusco.

The room was huge with lovely furnishings and a big, comfortable bed. The shower was electric with hot water. The terraced garden is a great place to relax in the afternoon with amazing views of the snow-capped mountains. The dining room is lovely and the food was great. Each dinner we had was paired with a surprisingly good wine.

Yovana and Eduardo were delightful and arranged transfers to and from the mirador where we started the trek. They also provided plenty of info for the trek and were extremely warm and hospitable.

I think a night here with meals is excellent value for what you get and I highly recommend staying here if you're in Cachora.

I highly recommend staying in the Casa de Salcantay. Apart from the fact that rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, two things need to be pointed out: 1) the owners of the hostal are amazing, and you can be sure that during your stay they will make you feel as part of their family; 2) the view from the terrace and rooms is superb and absolutely stunning!

We had a wonderful stay at casa Salcantay. The room was really nice and the view is stunning. Breakfast was also very good, but first of all the hosts, Yovana and Eduardo, were extremely lovely and helpful.

Best hotel in my several years of travel. Mandarin, four seasons and Ritz should take notes from Yovana on how to run a place

This was probably one of my favourite memories from our trip to Peru. Not only the hostal is amazing - clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and a stunning view on the mountains - but especially Yovana is a true treasure.
She makes this place feel you like at home or at friends. She's a great cook who will spoil you and pamper you wherever she cans. We almost didn't want to go away from there so in love we fell with the place and Yovana (hehe).
I know lots of people only stay one night before/after the trek but if possible just stay one night more, enjoy the view, relax and be part of Yovanas family :-)
Muchísimas gracias Yovana! Tu eres una mujer genial, positiva, amable y inspiradora. Estas nuestra estrella fugaz del viaje :) cuidarte y nos vemos en europa tal vez ;-)

Amazing place and the owners are the best. Rooms are modern, big and clean.
They gave me coffee and offered food, before even asking for a place to leave my bags before Choquequirao. Came with helpful information and even offered me dinner when I got back from the hike.
