Great wild cave adventure. We did the cave connection tour & decided to wait til after the weekend since we heard there is a lot of people there on weekends. Went on a Monday and was the only ones there. It's a lot of climbing and squeezing through tiny rock tunnels.

Make Lumiang cave as the entry and Sumaguing cave as your exit. It is a great adventure but it is physically demanding. It requires a lot of scrambling and squeezing through small holes. Just pay attention to your guide as they know best. Your guide will tell you the best way for each hole you pass through. Watch every step as limestones are slippery. Be ready to get wet. Enjoy the bats serenading you from above. Take a lot of photos when you are in sumaguing cave. Have fun but be safe.

It was dark actually and I find the place kind of creepy as there were coffins every where. Looking back, the dead were positioned in fetus style because there was no Christianity back then as per tour guide.

Our first ever spelunking! Caves also has it's beauty. We were not prepared of the darkness and coldness inside, but it's also enjoyable. You get to experience climbing up rocks using the ropes provided and of course, going/sliding through holes. It was a memorable long-hour journey.

Ifugao burial coffins up close and personal. Light to moderate hiking along the trail to the burial cave. Pause and savor the beautiful scenery while trekking. Wear your most comfortable training shoes or hiking sandals.

Amazed by how they buried the dead way back with no lights, no safety gears and slippery stones just to place the coffins on the top of the caves. We didnt get to see the hanging coffins up close since it is closed due to burial. Unlucky too that it is raining and power is interrupted when we went here.

This is entry point for the cave connection. Funny that this course has a hard start and a chill ending at the Sumaguing cave. I was here in 2015 and it was a good thing they put a barricade now at the opening to protect the caskets of those who are resting. I noticed that in a span of 4yrs, those rock formation somehow lose their elegance. Some darkened but still they are a beauty.

A memorable one. This is one for the books. Took a Cave connection, which we made an entrace from Lumiang Cave to Sumaguing Cave. Took us almost 5 hrs of adventure inside the wide cave.

When you see it! Sagada and its rich history can be found here! Though guide is a must, best if you also ask and engage them... you'll be surprise.

There seems to be two tours; one where you walk down pay away and back up and another where you squeeze through tiny spaces and hang over inner cave cliff edges without any safety gear (only a lamp). The latter was so much good damn fun and a bit of an adrenaline rush. Very highly recommended! Make sure to go to the actual tourist office, where the local people are the guides, and not SAGGAS.

Nice to know that they "hid" a bit of our cultural heritage here. If you're bringing kids I suggest that you'd be careful since some parts of the hike require moderate expertise. The coffins are detailed up close. You'd appreciate the way they preserve the area.

With only a guide with a kerosene lamp, yourself and a lot of courage. Brave through this once-in-a-lifetime cave spelunking! Dive into the gaping zero visibility darkness of Lumiang cave and be ready for one hell of a tour. Ranging from burial coffins at the entrance, squeezing into super tight spaces, rappelling up and down near 90 degree rocks formations, walking beside cliffs with seemingly bottomless abysses, traversing murky chilling waters with no way of knowing whats below and finally emerging at the mouth of Sumaguing cave, you'll have an appreciation of how good it is to still be alive and in one piece. P.s. the guides are also proficient in English, Filipino and are experts at their trade, trust their lead and they'll keep you safe and out of harms way!
