Sto. Niño Parish (Diocese of Tagbilaran) - Cortes

Sto. Nino Church in Cortes is a Catholic church located in Cortes, a town in the Philippines known for its historical and cultural significance. The church is dedicated to the Holy Child Jesus, also known as Sto. Nino, and is a popular destination for local residents and tourists alike.

Nice architecture.. they preserve well the stone rocks the the materials used in building the church..

The parish was established as an independent one in 1793 or 94. The town was established later, probably in 1862. The town was named after the Spanish conquistador, Hernan Cortes.
The parish was dedicated to the Santo Niño. Although the Recollects who served the parish from its inception until 1898 had begun to build a church in 1880, the bell towers upper register was not completed until the 20th century.
The doorway is framed by green floral carving which is quite unusual.

밀림속에 건축물
무너져가는 성당을 보는 듯 싶다.
벌써 지진의 재앙이 지난 지 4년이 흘러가겄만
언제나 오뚝 제 모습을 찾을런지...
