Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (Dauis Church)

One of the baroque churches in bohol showing the strong spanish influence and cultural heritage. The facade was now restored after the earthquake happened last 2013. Ceilings were intricately made with the influence of spanish baroque architecture.

Absolutely stunning. With an imposing exterior and a beautifully painted interior, this church is worth a visit. A bonus treat is the Dauis watchtower and a small, quiet jetty, both located at the back of the church.

The place is historical. There's a lot of story to learn on each corner of the place. The interior of the church is really great. Make sure to adhere proper dress code but if you're weaeing shorts or sleeveless you dont have to worry because they will lend you a cloth cover. Outside the church is very busy. There's a lot of students playing volleyball and soccer. There 's a store outside the church where you can buy native bags and other hand crafts.

One of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the Philippines.
Situated a few kilometers away from the city, many churchgoers prefer to attend mass in this shrine as it is less crowded than the churches in Tagbilaran.
When no masses are held, visitors are allowed to walk around and marvel at the wonderful artworks in the church, be it the wall paintings or the architecture.
Also present near the altar is a fresh-water well which is a wonder in itself since the church is situated in an island and also a few meters away from the shore.

The shrine has undergone renovation as it suffered a significant amount of damage when a quake hit the island a few years back. Photo of the damage of the facade included.

A well- preserved historic church, declared as a National Historical Landmark by the National Historical Commission w/ its neo-gothic and neo-classical architecture. Well maintained. Built in coral stone blocks. Antique confessionals, coffered ceiling and stained glass window. Also known with its healing water found at the foot of the altar.

Beautiful church right on the water. Could not get any good shots of the front of the church since they were setting up for a wedding and lots of cars around. Grounds are being restored with a little restaurant in the building behind the church.

Nice place to go to church. You can stroll at the back of the church to see a nice sea view. It also has a nice sunset view.

If you want to visit for personal intentions dont miss this place. A chilly spanish cafeteria awaits at the back if you want to grab some hot coffee.Coffee is Great and ambience will bring you to spain.

Got a chance to attend a sunday mass here before going home from visiting bohol for the 1st time. I love the place so much
