We chanced upon a wedding that had just ended; some decorations were still being dismantled wheny workmates and I entered. The murals were stunning and vibrant, most probably made recently. If I counted correctly, there were 240 lavender squares handpainted. They looked liked Byzantine tiles from Ravenna, Italy. It’s amazing how much work went into making the murals, and my workmate and I were talking about how many scaffoldings were put up for the artist to reach the dome ceilings.

Outside were rock carvings of The Last Supper, Jesus’ face, etc. On the other side were sculptures of angels and St. Michael the Archangel. More sculptures are in the parking lot, across the church’s facade.

My workmate said this is one of the most beautiful churches in the Philippines he has seen and I strongly agree!

Solemn place with a good interior and history. The mass is also great with good insights from the priests.

Quite a nice old church. Quite big inside. Bigger than I expected. And the little bats were pretty and cute

This church is the core of the catholic community because it serves as a place of worship and provides spiritual guidance and support to its members. Citizens of Cauayan love this church because it provides a sense of community and a place for worship.

The facade of the Church is so nice. It really preserve its historic view even the church undergo so many renovation as its history says.

Highly recommend to read its “Church History”.

Ngayon ko lang nalaman na the local inhabitants of Cauayan before the Christianism came are “Gaddangs”.

The Spanish era church was built in the 18th century. It is situated in the heart of the City of Cauayan.

I love how they try to maintain the original architectural design of the facade of the church.

Some of the statues outside appear a little amateurish, but the frescos inside the church were amazing. Overall, a beautiful and awe-inspiring visit.

Clean place. The structures are newly painted. There's a limited parking space for church-goers, so better plan your visit.

You should be punctual if you go to church because with the number of people who go to the church is not big enough to accommodate church goers ,you will stand outside if you are late.

This Church offers you mixed feelings.
The church was formally accepted as a mission area in 1741 by the dominican missionaries. The faćade was the only remnant left of the old spanish days. Inside is a modern painted ceiling church.
