It took us less than an hour to reach the falls. The route is cemented but better to wear slippers. The trek to the falls was fairly easy but the trek back was bloody because of the steep uphill battle.
Our experience with bomod ok falls was okayish because we wanted to climb up the falls but it was raining during our visit so the water current was strong and dangerous to attempt to climb. On our way back, you can take the orginal route to the drop off point or take a lesser stressful climb. However, you will be charged 300 pesos for the latter route because its somewhat a short cut. Once you reach the top, you will again be paying 500pesos for a jeep ride back to the parking lot

A hidden gem in the flatlands of Northern Sagada. You need to trek down a cemented set of stairs to get to the village, and eventually to the river and to the falls. Entrance fee is 10/head, guide fee is 500 per group of 7, and shuttle fee (if you're coming from the city) is 600.

The trek down is around 2 km, and we got it in less than an hour (40-45 mins) without stop. It isn't that much difficult as the steps are small and you can really rush your way down. We entered through the tourism office (Bangaan jump off).

We had it early morning (8:30 AM) so the sun is still calm and tolerable. We were the first to set and arrive at the falls. We did it on a Saturday, as tours usually do the Marlboro Hills/Blue soil first so there are no other guests aside from us at this point.

You will pass by the village on the way. You can ask your tour guide/the tour guide will share with you the history of the barangays in the northern part, how they are different from the central Sagada, etc which are really interesting. Beautiful rice fields after the village--you can take instagrammable shots there. River is a bit dried out during summer, and there is also fewer water rushing out of the falls; the good thing about this is you can come closer to the falls, compared to when it's raining and you can only come to a certain point.

Very cold water. Locals also come here to gather, swim, play. They were very nice and a good experience to immerse with the community. There's a hidden area some may check in; you need to crawl on the small chamber on the left and there's a mini falls facing right the big falls.

Going up is the real challenge. We opted to exit in Pide, going up there is tolerable. You will exit right in the village and you will hike up a cemented road with less stairs. It was way easier as I imagined climbing back to Bangaan. The stairs going back are grouped together in big numbers, so you will be forced to climb continuously and it's very tiring!! Especially, under the heat of the Sun. In Pide exit, the stairs will only be on the last leg and it's tolerable compared to the ones we passed through in Bangaan.

I would say it's worth the adventure! Not the best falls in the Philippines but definitely one great experience!

Bomod-ok Falls in Sagada is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The hike to the falls is filled with stunning views of lush landscapes and terraced rice fields, making every step a visual delight. During our hike, we are also greeted with a field of wild sunflowers, making the experience memorable and sweet.

A guide is required for the hike, ensuring you stay on the right path and learn about the local area. The trail itself is quite challenging, often steep and demanding, which can be very tiring and tough on the knees. Having a walking stick is highly recommended to help navigate the rugged terrain.

However, the effort is well worth it. The sight of Bomod-ok Falls cascading down into a serene pool is breathtaking and a perfect reward for the hike. The falls is very cold and the water is deep. If you know how to swim, jump into the water to feel refreshed before your trek back.

Despite the physical challenge, the experience of reaching the falls and soaking in the natural beauty of Sagada makes it an unforgettable adventure.

We visited Sagada on February 16, 2024, and on the second day of our stay, we went to Bomod-ok Falls right after Marlboro Hills - Blue Soil and Sumaguing Cave tours with only an hour or two of rest. We didn't want to waste time, so we made the most of the day. This falls is very beautiful, and the view on the way to the falls is stunning and worth it, although we got tired from the trekking going and coming back. The stairs going up, you will really feel the pain in your thighs after trekking. I regularly hike, I didn't get tired from Marlboro Hills, Blue Soil, and Sumaguing Cave. But it was here in the trekking to Bomod-ok Falls that I got tired in the afternoon, but all of that was worth it, and I didn't regret that we did Marlboro Hills, Blue Soil, Sumaguing Cave, and Bomod-ok Falls in one day. The tiredness was totally worth it.

Clean and cold water. You need to trek of around 1.5 hrs to reach the falls from Fidelisan Village. It is approximately 2 kms. The hardest part I think is the trekking back since you need to climb up the stairs. Overall you will have a rice terraces view before reaching the falls.

Tallest falls ive seen so far. We walked from the top down to the rice terraces to reached the falls. We didnt took the package since it includes shuttle which is more likely higher price instead since we have a motorcycle we went straight and asked some locals to accompany us, we paid him directly instead. The water is very cold and refreshing. So worth it.

Worth the hike as this is one of the best waterfalls I have been in the Philippines. Try also eating at the Boodle resto after. Their food is delicious!

A very majestic waterfall. There's a rock formation by the periphery where you can leave your things while you swim in the ice cold water. It's very refreshing after a long hike!

Bomod-ok falls is one thing that every Sagada adventurists should not miss especially for first time tourists. Getting here starts from registering at the Tourism Office. Tourism fee is 100 php and the guided tour fee is 1500 php.

The starting point of the trek going down to the falls is 20 min from the tourism center. Trekking would normally take hours for those who are not used to hiking. However experienced hikers would complete bthe downward trek in just 30 min.

From the top you will pass through a Kankanae community and rice terraces which is so picturesque.

The falls is splendid ... Crystal clear and potable. In fact it is the main water supply for people around the community.

The Falls itself is breathtaking and relaxing to watch as the water falls down to the ground (waterfall).

They call it Bomod-ok Falls because of the water pressure that translate to “Bulwak” in Filipino and in Sagada local dialect “Bumod-ok”

It’s an easy trek going down to the falls because 90% of the trail is already cemented. Not an easy trek back though because you’ll gonna climb back to where you started.

Apart from the Falls, it is amazing to walk through the Fedelisan and their Fedelisan Rice Terraces.

There are 2 option to see this big falls.

Through aguid route (1hour steep trek) or bangaan route (2hours easy cemented route)

Water here is ice cold.
Prepare 500 fee for the tour guide (no guide is not allowed and not recommended) and your water and snack.

You'll see also the rice terraces of sagada and walk along with it.

There are parking space for private vehicles and shuttle (of course with another payment) back and fourth

You must register first at tourism office found near municipal hall.

Well worth the walk to enjoy this impressive waterfall. Stunning scenery near the falls too. It rained when we went, but it didn't dampen our fun!

2km down hill walk to the falls and another 2km uphill walk going back. Good thing, the walk paths are all concrete. Make sure you are in good condition 'cos it's tiring, but eventually, it will pay off, the falls is so beautiful. 500php for the tour guide + 10php environmetal fee. Must experience the top load ride! You can consider taking the walking stick, it was a great help for me🤭Enjoy and take care!

Aguid-Pide-FidelisanTrail, Sagada, 2619 Mountain Province

Bomod-ok Falls is also called the Big Falls because, well, it is definitely bigger than Bokong Falls, another popular waterfall in Sagada. Hidden deep in a valley, it takes an hour to two to get here by foot from the main road (and that’s just one-way). Bomod-ok’s cold, cold water cascades from the top of a beautiful naturally contoured cliff to a pool below, forming a 200-ft column of water and wonder.

The start of the trek was easy. The concrete path that leads to the falls is actually easy to walk on. It also provides visitors spectacular views of the terraces, the hills, the valley. It also allows a quick glimpse into the lifestyle of the community. On the way there, we realized how difficult it must be to live here — walking long distances. Yet, we came across locals, men and women, who effortlessly trod in between rice paddies while carrying sacks (yes, plural) of produce on their back. We even met a man balancing a stack of timber on his shoulders as he made his way up. (Nahiya naman kami kay manong.) We saw children planting crops, playing along the terraces, and singing while watching tourists pass by.

Very tiring trek..walking 4,000 steps down to falls and walking another 4,000 steps where you came from but it was worth it specially when you see the falls and walk in the rice terraces itself.Breath taking views out there

Nature at its best!!!!
The hike was the most challenging part but we are lucky(to have a very nice and patient guide) to have the place all by ourselves. The waterfall’s very beautiful!

Clean falls where locals gets their drinking water. Cold and refreshing water. A long walk is worth it for a beautiful place and nice scenery while going there. The locals there are also friendly, you can buy food or snacks when you pass by the small village before you reach the Bomod-ok Falls.
