Lalo Wala Darwaza

This is one of the historic gates of Bhera city, commonly known as "Lalo Wala Darwaza," but its original name, as indicated on a plaque at the top of the gate, is "Mooltanee Gate." This gate was reconstructed during the British Raj in 1865 under the oversight of Captain Devis. It is situated on the circular road and was initially constructed by Sher Shah Suri when Bheera city was established on the southern bank of the river Jhelum, having been relocated from the northern bank. In 1867, during Queen Victoria's rule when the British governed the Indian subcontinent, the gate underwent another renovation. Recently, it has undergone further restoration efforts by local authorities.

Very old gate built around 150 years ago and yet looks like strong and durable.

This gate is a part of fort made in early days of sub continent used to defend the city from outside war scenes. Due to modernization this is used to to enter a main bazar but shadows of past are easily seen from this gate of Bhera.

From this place famous daral aloom of bhera run by Peer Hasnat shah is very near. So are the oldest buildings of bhera in mohallah pirachgan. Coming inside the gate is the passage that leads to the main bazar of bhera. On the way are the shops famous for Phanian and mehndi... Its 3 km away from bhera interchange.
