Dobczyce Castle

This is one of the best places to visit near Krakow. Very relaxing place with nice views. You can have a picnic, sit, and enjoy a relaxing time with your friends and family.

You can have a good view from the dam, the castle is currently closed for renovations.

There's a very good route if you want to go for a walk or a little trek.

Public transport:
Krakow --> Wieliczka--> Dobczyce Castle (A8 bus).

The castle is closed until the end of March 2024. But the surroundings are good. Nice place to go for a walk. Surrounded by scenic spots.

The remains of a castle. It is handsome. Here is restoring the history, show how people lived before what they used it, what they did. It’s a cheap tickets as for such a nice castle. A little overgrown but beautiful.

Hello. Well worth a visit and no charge to enter or for parking. Be prepared for a steep climb upwards but terrific views across the reservoir and Castle. It was closed when we visited on a Tuesday. But further along is a museum where you can climb up and walk along a battlement like facade. Wonderful!

Unfortunately the castle and museum were closed but it's still a very pretty scenery.

Awesome place to visit. Its built right next to dam which is built between mountain. The view from the castle is very beautiful. Well maintained and would cost just 15 zloty. Lots of old weapons and guns used in old an time.

This is a partly renovated castle. Nice place to visit.

Nice to stop and see if you are passing by, view is great, castle building as well, some exhibitions inside the castle look like they were made in Communist times, not very professional, but for us it was actually adding fun to the experience.

Very beautiful landscape, no waiting in line. Interesting exposition, the only problem it is not translated in english. Overall pretty good.

Really nice place with an amazing view!

Very nice castle. The chambers, although not many of them available for viewing, contain a considerable amount of historical artifacts and I enjoyed the display a lot. Moreover I felt that organisationwise it has been prepared in a clever way, you instinctively follow through to the next exhibit of the tour and we never had the, quite common in other museums, "damn, i think i've already been in this room" feeling:)

In the price of the cheap ticket (7PLN per adult; on this October weekend we got in at a discounted entry fee of 5PLN!) you also get the viewing of the open-air museum (Polish "skansen") just outside the castle walls - pretty cool insight into a late XIX/early XX century village household.

All in all, especially for the price to quality content and time spent ratio, highly recommend:))

Quite small but interesting building. It better should be called "stone house" not "castle". A few rooms with historical artifacts and and a couple of country houses near the castle - that's it. But the views are awesome.

Quite small, but very nice castle. Good place to walk on dyke. In a good weather it is possible to see fish in the lake.
