A very interesting museum to visit near Cracow, in Wadowice, which was the city were grew up the pope Jon Paul 2.
The museum is created in the house were Karol Wojtyla grew up, before becoming the public and religious persona he has become.
No matter your religion, we all respect this man. Most of people believe and keep saying that he was the best Pope ever.
The most unanimous and respected Pope, no matter your beliefs or religion. It’s probably because, before his function, he was a very very kind and nice man. A person with an unbelievable degree of empathy that cannot be ignored. He was the connector of everyone. To me it’s one of the symbol, and the human incarnation of the definition of Universalizm. Rest in Peace Mr Wojtyla, and thank you for everything, for bringing us together without borders, making no differences among people.

Very big and interesting. Such a beautiful museum. They gave us headphones and a small radio so we could understand more about the Pope's life and childhood. As in prices very cheap and worth visiting.

Wonderful museum!
Make sure to take an audioguide, it is really worth it.
The visit take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours if you want to see everything.

The museum is really agreeable and well made. I really enjoyed it. The staff is also friendly.

I could also buy a very nice rosary at the museum shop (handmade in Poland) and I really like it. I wanted to buy books for children or a book for me on John Paul II and his teachings, but unfortunately there are almost exclusively books in Polish. So, I was not able to buy something else than my rosary.

Make also sure that you have time to go to the cathedral, it is next to the museum.

I'm not religious but I really enjoyed visiting. It was great to see the life of the Pope. From his childhood to his passing. Very detailed and the surrounding town is good to. Well worth a visit. It's a lot bigger and full of information than you'd expect when you look at it from outside.
This was part of a day tour my partner and I went on. Visiting other religious sites along the way. This was a fantastic experience and a real highlight. The English speaking guide was very informative and full of insightful knowledge.
When visiting Poland I'd recommend this as one of the places to go.

You will be amazed with this museum! I didn't expect it to be such a multimedia powerhouse as the tour began.

In every new room my there was new surprise.

It starts a bit slow but it gets better and better. Definitely worth a visit if you are near Wadowice.

Beautiful, interactive museum about the whole Karol Wojtyła/John Paul's II fascinating life. Many rooms showing all parts of his life-from the childhood in Wadowice till his last days in Italy as Pope. You can see a lot of personal belongings, photos, videos. I was truly touched visiting this museum. People working there are super friendly. There is a lift, restroom, cloakroom, a souvenir shop. Accesibility for people with hearing, vision and walking problem. The guided tour takes aprox. 1h 10minutes. You can buy tickets online in advance.

I think that this place is great. There are a couple of animations and the lighting is great! It fits very well with the ambiance. I love how each room has a different theme, for example afterlife, or living space, or war time. There are many photos and artefacts here to look at and more than one film.
This place has a great balance of information entertainment 2 animations and more than a couple of films you can watch. Many of speeches you can hear and just so so many photos which really helps me imaginate how he lived.

Overall had great experience here with my family and really recommend it to people passing by this city, it's really worth it.

This was such a surprising place, at the beginning I was unsure about the tour but shortly after starting the tour it was so interesting that the 70 minute tour ended at almost 90 minutes.
The items that are there were also so surprising that they were not still kept in the Vatican City itself.
There is so much there that there is no single highlight.
Could it be the unique doors?
Could it be the suit worn by one of his security officers, that still has flecks of his Holy blood.
Could it be the fine collection of his clothes.
But no.
To me the highlight was the photos showing his human and down to earth side, depicting his love of families and the youth of the world.
That he has kept items that meant something to him.
The red cap that he was lent whilst walking and forgot to return.
This museum is a MUST see place.
Even for none Polnish speakers the signs are also in English.
Really one of the best museums that I have visited, with the biggest surprise interest.

A great museum which houses the 3 room apartment that Karol Wojtyla grew up in. I would also recommend visiting the National Shrine of Saint John Paul II in Washington DC if given the chance.

He visited his country every four years in the beginning, after becoming Pope and then every three years. Every he made in his visit the important messages are marked in the wall of his house and very inspiring words and made me cry by the anointing of the word. And his greetings to his people of Poland is very touching heart.

Beautiful Wadowice (cca 50 km from Krakow) is best known for being the birthplace of Karol Wojtyła, later Pope John Paul II.
