Was amazed by the architecture of this Basilica, hence decided to explore a little inside. The high ceiling is very impressive, Makes one wonder how was this achieved in that era.

Another surprise was that, for 10 euros you can climb the tower’s view point for some breathtaking view of the city. And if you manage to go during sunset, it adds more essence to an already amazing view.

However, the climb up the tower involves 400 odd steps and around 200 of them are turn steps, where you are just climbing a steep and narrow steps round and round. So if you are someone who are not comfortable with lot of circular steps please avoid it. Because once you start climbing this there is no turning back.
But the view is so much worth it.
A must visit for sure

I was so impressed with the sheer size of this building popping up right from the heart of old town (some say it is the largest brick construction in the world while others rank it second) that I kept shooting it from every angle during my time in Gdansk.
The interior is also notable with many outstanding features such as the organ and the clock. A must-see.

Very lovely cathedral. If you climb up the tower, it is hard work that definitely makes your thighs burn with the 409 steps but worth the burn for the views of the city. The clock located in the church comes alive once a day at 12.00 noon with lovely music and a theatrical performance. It does get crowded to view the clock, so go earlier to get a good spot

Came here to see interior and climb the 409 steps to the top. Was really nice, going inside is free and going to the top was less than €10 for two. You can only go up from 11AM even though church opens from 9AM

Majestic Church with the tallest tower, you can observe one of the greatest architecture both inside and outside the church. climbing 409 steps to reach the tower's top and the city view from the top of the tower is an absolutely stunning experience.
highly recommended!!!!

Impressive church with lots of beautiful artifacts inside, one of them is enormous clock with very complex calendar that works. You can see the clock in action exactly at noon. Church has a view tower with alwsome city view. Very impressive architecture.

Cheap entry and a famous landmark in Gdansk. Skull crypt was very creepy and unique.

Worth visiting for sure!! There is a tower with a narrow stair, which consists of 408? 412 I forgot. To be honest, it was seriously tough to go to the top, but when I looked around the view of Gdansk, it was worth the effort (my energy loss)

Pretty majestic inside, very tall columns. But mostly people come here for the view, it is excellent for them. I only advise you to come early so as not to get into a large influx of people, it spoils everything. The climb itself is easy and fast, the view is definitely worth it.

Must visit place. From the imposing architecture, to the very well explained history of each corner, to the amazing view you get of all gdansk after climbing 402 stairs.

Its silent, not crowded and the entrance is free. However, there is a small fee to pay to go up the tower.

For going up the tower, some stairs are tight, some are washed away because of the use, and there are some place were its very spacious. Going up is easy for both adults or kids, and there are some place to catch your breath

We had a recent visit to the basilica and it was a great experience. The church itself is very beautiful and big. We also decided to climb up the tower to the top of the church to be able to see the panoramic views of the city. Over 400 steps later, but it was definitely worth it for the views. If you are visiting Gdansk I would certainly recommend this as something to do, also don’t forget to check out the large wooden clock inside.

When visiting this church, make sure to see the two movies (in the underground visitors center, entrance is outside the basilica) - one is about the clock, the other is about the history of this church. Also don’t miss the view from the tower!

Amazing place to look around absolutely massive with some precious stuff in there. We spent some time on the ground wondering round there and decided to take the stairs up the viewing point. Be warned its a lot of stairs which we didn't realise until halfway. First part of stairs very cramped with no handrail. Steps are tiny so have sensible footwear. You then get to the middle where the bells are, this section does have handrails so generally feels safer. The views on the top are incredible from what we could see in the snow! Its worth doing while you're there however only recommend for fit and healthy people.

Surprisingly larger than I thought, from inside you have the option to go to the top of a tower, it was a very spontaneous and fun little experience.

What a view from the top of the tower. Amazing. It was just 3 odd pounds to walk up to the tower. There are about 350 steps to get up to the view, but it's not too bad. Stop and take a breather whenever. It's worth it. Also, you are stepping up the inside of the tower, and it's wonderfully interesting to see the domes from inside the church roof. Very cool indeed.
The church itself is something to behold. Spectacular! Don't miss this! Make time!

Truly astonishing to walk through the vast hall of this beautiful church. The interior is mostly whitewashed brick, but the sheer size will leave you breathless. It's one of the largest brick churches in the world and you really feel it when your there.

Take a walk up the 405 steps to the top of the bell tower to get a great view of the city.
