Green Gate

Green Gate stands at the Motlawa embankment and marks the eastern gateway into old town Gdansk.
The Palace Gate was built in 1560 as a Royal Residence, now serving as an art museum. Beautifully illuminated at night

Nice gates, but really busy! I would recommend to visit early in the morning if you want to enjoy the view in peace and quiet!

Gdansk is a city steeped in history with beautiful architecture. Walking its streets feels like stepping into the past.

Took several pictures here. There is alot of historical buildings here to take pictures of. There are the traditional gift shops and eateries packed in the "Old Town". We did not ride the ship but you can there are 2 ships believe its every hour they come around.

Green Gate is a grand structure from 16th century with four gates which is an entrance to the old town where the long market starts. It is situated on river Motlawa on the other side. It is usually crowded but better if you go before 9am when the multi storey market opens. It is nearby other public attractions like Neptune's fountain, Artus court, Gdansk historical museum, and Ship museum "Soldek" on the other side of the river Motlawa.

The Green Gate was designed by Reiner van Amsterdam and built in XVI century. It was to serve as the formal residence of Polish monarchs but was only used once for that purpose in its history.Today the Green Gate houses the National Museum. Also former Polish President and symbol of Solidarity, Lech Walesa, has his office here. There are four arched passages through this gate and there is a symbol over each one of them. Very good beginning for a walk in Dluga street. Very crowded.

Super nice place, with attractions like musicians and next to the sea. Perfect for pics.

If possible, I recommend that you visit in the morning (before 9 AM). That way you can walk around and enjoy some serenity along with the beauty. Because, before you know it, the place will be overrun with tourists!

It’s lovely! I love the way they’ve renovated the place. Definitely a must see in Gdańsk.

It is a very beautiful place. Very crowded and there's always someone playing instruments and they are not always so good at playing.

Fascinating old gate that greats you as you walk across the river. Past the gate leads to the main Street in old Town.

Huge gate opening the old city door. Always some shows or muscians around with a lovely atmosphere!

Perfect place to walk around and have snack. Lot of restaurants, souvenir shops to spend time
