You can easily walk pass without noticing the wall. It's better to use the map or walk slower. Not much left to see. However, it's the important history we shall not forget 🕎

It’s just so hard to believe what went on, but this did and the walls remain which is nice but equally sad of their time.

It's not where you go for fun, but if you're in Krakow... I would say it's a must be seen.
Be prepared for the fact that the fragment of the wall is not located in the Jewish quarter, but about a 30-minute walk from it. The fact is that the people were removed there from their own homes to the different area of Krakow... (Ok, I will not go into historical lectures. It's best to see and find out for yourself).
Be prepared also for the fact that even this small fragment of the wall will cause a heavy feeling. This is a natural feeling. Crying is acceptable.
From the wall you can walk to Oskar Schindler's factory ("Schindler's List", I'm sure you know. If not, watch it).
Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit the factory, where the museum is now, but this is in the plans for the next visit. We looked at the building from the outside. The impression is also upsetting, but you feel better when you think how many people's lives were saved behind these high metal gates.
This needs to be seen.

It is amazing to know the history of the Ghetto wall!
To see it in historic pictures, in museums and books!
Then to know that some of the wall still exists here, well you have to make that effort and find it😀

We found this fragment of the Ghetto Wall in Lwowska street. It was easy to find as we walked across the Wisla river, passing the Ghetto Hero's Square on your right, then off to the left slightly.
With a local tourist map or your phone navigation👍😀 was easy to find.

Standing by it, you get the feeling of how high the wall actually is.
Maybe this new path has been built up? Meaning the wall could of seemed even higher back in time then, than it actually is now??

The whole history of this area is very moving and gives a sombre energy, to what has gone on in the past and all the atrocities people had suffered!

It was a privilege to come here and pay our personal respects to all them people who suffered.

There are tours in buggies that can bring you to Lwowska street, but we chose to walk here😀

There isn’t much to it, but there doesn’t need to be when it represents too much of a horrible thing. We mustn’t forget what our past tragedies have been so not to repeat it ever again.

The Plaque:

The plaque was placed here in 1983 and is In Hebrew and Polish.

“Here they lived, suffered, and died at the hands of German executioners. From here they began their last journey to the death camps.”

This place, which is a 12-meter extension of the wall, which is the most obvious evidence of Krakow's ghetto, bears the traces of World War II and impresses you.
Unfortunately, the Jews who were collected from here and taken to torture camps were tortured and killed by German torturers.

You have to understand what was the Guetto, what happened inside it to give the right value to a simple fragment of a wall. For me it was important to visit the Guetto, the wall fragment and the Pharmacy. Please read the book "The Krakow Guetto Pharmacy" before visiting the wall and the Guetto itself - it will give you the necessary knowledge to understand why a fragment of a wall has such a historical value ;)

Interesting to see.
Sadly there’s very little information about the wall however after visiting the nearby Schindler’s Factory we were educated on the design style of the wall

In a way, there isn't a lot to it - it is a wall.
An important part of history kept in good condition by the local community. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We came here on the ghetto walking tour. It was a wet dark late evening in September.
I was fascinatined by the whole experience but this wall, at the side of a busy road, just stunned me.
Well worth going on the tour.

We visited Krakow and we were able to explore the old center, the Jewish Quarter and the cemeteries. We also had the opportunity to see the
surviving fragment of the Krakow Ghetto wall. It was a learning experience to remember what happened here. Always remember. #KrakowJewishQuarter #JewsInKrakow.

The tombstone design wall is the only fragment left of the Jewish ghetto in Krakow, a very real reminder of the awful past of the city, a very important operational centre for the Nazis, who committed endless atrocities in the name of "cleansing". Lest we forget, for real.

Reminiscent of the lost voices. This small fragment of wall transports you back to the period 1941-43

Very thought provoking, only a small section left, so do some reading on where the ghetto was. This would give you a better idea of the size of the ghetto and location of the gates to it etc

Such a sad reminder of what was done to the Jewish people here in the early 1940’s.
The fact the Germans made the wall to resemble gravestones is just so dehumanizing and evil.

Please come here, touch the wall…. Let us never forget.
