Very nice place to sit for a moment, there are benches, also under trees so there is a bit of shade :D Many cafes and restaurants and places of historical importance. There is a beautiful view of the Barbican and monument of Grunwald Battle, important battle in history of Poland and Europe as well. For polish people, a grand victory over Teutonic Order, for Europe, a final battle of medieval times where knights were the main force, i. e. it marks the end of knights. On the other end of the Square there is a church of saint Philip from which a melody is played on bells. Also, this square was a part of a rich village of Kleparz, once outside of Kraków.

Here in Krakow and in almost every city in Poland, you see a Square dedicated to Jan Matejko. He was King off Poland.
In 1410 the last off Tectonic wars, which he won, the Battle off Grunwald.
