A precious polish museum of communism period. At the ground floor, you will see how kids enjoyed limited toys and sharing happiness each other during communism period. And underground, there's a huge pilot shelters built by government in 1950s. You will find how much the government took preparations for nuclear wars at the period. It's a great place to learn history.

Very interesting, there is a lot you can read. Don't forget to go to the bunker below.

The ticket here also includes access to Podziemna Nowa Huta which is about a 20 minute walk away. Ticket is valid for a month for this.

This is what you get when great local minds get together. A real community centre telling the story of the local people and area in the context of the whole city, Europe, modern times... each next exhibition is better and gives you greater opportunities to relate. Chapeau bas!

I would like to recommend the amazing museum shop: lots of authentic glassware, knickknacks and gadgets from the PRL (communist Poland) era. many great ideas for unique gifts and souvenirs. the lady who runs the business is very knowledgeable about the merchandise and its history. also books about this period of Polish history and culture. a real gem.

It takes a little bit of understanding of Polish to buy tickets, but bomb shelter there was definitely worthwhile. Quite extensive compared to what I have seen in other countries including Germany, US and UK. There is extensive explanation in English too in the museum.

Definitely worth a visit when in Nowa Huta. Shot me back to the 80s. Lovely posters and old school plates and mugs for sale.

Small but interesting museum, the ground floor is for temporary initiatives and the basement hosts permanent real bunker exhibition

I found it really interesting to learn all about the history of Nowa Huta. The underground bunker is great to look round. Your entrance ticket (14zl) also includes the underground shelter at the Technical school 38 too. Highly recommended.

A well annotated museum that recounts the communist past of Poland and discusses the significance of the many bunkers built during this time. There were many English/polish texts available meaning I could still enjoy the experience with my limited polish. I would like to return again.

A window into communist era Poland, a bit out of the way but definitely worth a visit.

Really liked this museum, it's done in a nice way.
There are 2 floors (ground floor and underground). Ground floor exposition covers monuments part mainly focusing on Lenin monuments. Underground exposition allows you to feel like you are in war shelter.

Great museum, it tells you everything of nowa huta and its history. But what I found weird is that you start at the liberation in 1991 and after that is done you come to the occupation after the 2nd world war. I would have liked it better if the occupation was viewed initially so the viewer know exactly what had happened and why the revelution was commenced. If you want you can go to the bunker first and learn about the history and than come back to beginning to see the liberation.

A truly strange and fascinating museum. You can easily spend many hours here if you wish to carefully look at all the items. Nowa Huta is a fascinating area and the collection at this museum will help give you insight into what it was like here during the Communist-era.

One of my favourite museums. Learn all about the March 1968 events in Poland. Has a nice Cold War era bunker and exhibition on Solidarity.

Very detailed and informative museum! We really enjoyed this as an alternative to communism tours. Highly recommend followed by a walk around the neighborhood to see it in real life!
