There are better looking churches inside and out but there's historical significance to this one, and it's not bad.

Absolutely spiritual place! Kalwaria Zebrzydowska park is a Mannerist architectural and park landscape complex plus a pilgrimage park, was added in 1999 to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The site is also one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii) and tracked by the National Heritage Board of Poland.

The park includes Pilgrimage Trail

Definitely worth a visit! You can see there is much care put into the church and grounds. A lively parish, with a large group attending a weekday noon mass.

Absolutely stunning place! Kalwaria Zebrzydowska park is a Mannerist architectural and park landscape complex plus a pilgrimage park, built in the 17th century as the Counter Reformation in the late 16th century led to prosperity in the creation of calvaries in Catholic Europe. The park was added in 1999 to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The site is also one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments (Pomnik historii) and tracked by the National Heritage Board of Poland.

This place is just mesmerising and you can fell something divine in the air, it’s truly a special place. They have also a some gastronomy there so you’ll never get hungry hah.

P.S. Read about a history and fix your purpose before you go there!

Beautiful place with some fantastic views.
1. Try to visit when there is not a mass.
2. You can park along street all the way up to the top of Hill.
3. They have a main information window to the right of main entrance if you come up and enter from the bottom of the hill with statues above wall.
4. They also have tours at the information booth.
5. Remember to silence cell phone.
6. Bathroom is located directly behind (Rear entrance) in separate building in court yard. From rear entrance look to the right corner of courtyard you will see WC sign. Cost is 4 ZL cash and no credit card.

Polish Sanctuary of a very special meaning as it was loved by our Pope Holy John Paul 2. Beautiful church with rich history. Unusual manger at Christmas time.

An experience you should not miss. A charming, peaceful place with a unique atmosphere and surrounded by nature. Even if you're not religious, this environment fills you with peace. It's on the side of a hill and there're dozens of paths that go deep, up and down, into the thick old forest. There's a public residence with spartan but spacious rooms sporting an incredible view... for little more than 10 € if you book in-site. There's also a cafeteria and an unpretentious restaurant with good quality, homemade food, and a lovely terrace. At night there's complete quietness. I would come back without a doubt.
The only down sides I could find were the unfriendly check-in/out times (15/09 respectively) and low pressure shower. But for that money...

Very impressive place, it feels like discovering town in church premisses. You will find there post office, book store, restaurant, ice cream stand etc.
You can enter the yard through the main church as its all connected or from a different side.
There is a free of charge parking just next to the sanktuarium.

I have been here. I did not go inside the church because I am not a Catholic. I was blessed by the priest with other members of the party I was with. We had gone on a mini-pilgrimage. A long walk from the Wellness Centre where we were staying.

I did not realise how magnificent the church was because we did not look inside.

There is a small railway station nearby where intercity trains stop. There is a hilltop village with a pretty market square. Poland is not so good at doing 'pretty'. And a very picturesque lunatic asylum.
