Potato pancakes were delicious and a large serving. Tomato soup was average but not too bad. Proper plates and cutlery, unlike the reviews. The atmosphere is rustic, it looks like a small family owned business. The sign says "slow food", it is, they cook it for you, however I didn't feel like we waited too long. I would recommend, as long as you don't expect a modern facility in a big city.

We stopped at this place just looking for something to eat. What a pleasant surprise. The best pierogis so far my American family had during this visit to Poland. Highly recommend

This café has a unique atmosphere that makes you feel like you're visiting someone's home. It might seem a bit chaotic, but the staff are friendly and have a quirky sense of humor. All the pierogi are freshly made, so you might have to wait for your order, but there are humorous signs everywhere that say “slow-food” to let you know. We ordered three different types of pierogi: with meat, spinach, and mushrooms. The pierogi were incredible! They tasted just like something you'd have at your mom's place. They accept card payments but prefer cash. One downside is that there is no restroom for customers.
I highly recommend stopping by if you're visiting Wieliczka to taste some real homemade food!

Some of the best pierogis I've ever had, tried almost every flavour and loved all of them! Had to get several re-fills, and the ladies who run this place are very nice.
I've been here twice and enjoyed my visits both times.

The place has superb PIEROGI, we tasted with spinach, blueberry and poppy seed - there was plenty of filling, the one with poppies is very unique and a superb dessert. Loved it!

A quick lunch after visiting salt mine. It’s a super cute shop located at the shady part of the town square, two nice ladies cooking there, smells amazing when step in. They don’t speak English but there’s an English menu. I tried pork, which is just pulled pork, nothing else inside. I also tried cabbage and mushroom, it tastes amazing if u like sour cabbage. It’s the kinda home cooking warms your heart 🐨 DJ

This is a traditional Polish pierogarnia in the town square of Wieliczka. This is in a very convenient location which is only a few minutes walk from the salt mines.
There are no vegan descriptions on the menu but after some discussion with the staff we identified a vegan dish - showing the high standard of service they have.
I tried the Stuffed Cabbage (Gotąbki). This is a cabbage leaf stuffed with some rice and mushroom filling which has loads of herbs and spices. This was absolutely bursting with flavour and very satisfying.
All the dishes are made fresh in front of you and the place is full of locals showing high standard of the food. The food arrived quickly and it was so nice to see such a traditional restaurant. I would definitely advise trying this surprisingly vegan dish if you are in the area.

This charming eatery, run by local Polish proprietors, offers a delightful journey back in time with its traditional ambiance. The cozy interior immerses you in a bygone era, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. Their freshly made pierogi steal the show with their affordability and mouthwatering flavors. While communication can be a bit challenging due to limited English proficiency, the outstanding food more than compensates for any language barrier. It's a must-visit for a taste of authentic Polish cuisine and culture.

Wanted to try Pierogi (Dumpling) - most recognizable Polish foods.
Found this perfect place to relish this traditional delicacy.

Heads up - they don't speak English , had a tough time conveying what I wanted as I am a vegetarian.
But if you manage to get across with communicating , you will see that the food is just awesome and worth more than the price they charge.

Food is freshly made right in-front of you , it just cant better !
Don't miss it if you are in this area.

What a find!!

A traditional small polish eatery (a.k.a. hole in the wall), with excellent typical dishes pieroggi, potato pancake, stuffed cabbage, soups etc. All dishes are freshly homemade, the pieroggis are made to order. You can actually see them roll the dough and fill them by hand. Vegetarian friendly and they speak english. You can also ask for an english menu. Since the dishes are made to order, budget a little bit more time.

We had pieroggi with potato and white cheese filling, sweet pieroggi with strawberries and fried potato cake with mushroom sauce. Then we had homemade polnish lemonade (kompot) and cherry liquor for drinks. All were very delicious, one of the best pieroggi we tried in Poland so far!

If you happen to visit the nearby Wieliczka salt mine, go here for a delicious lunch 😋

This place has tasty home made Pierogis. Also quite creative dumplings like kebab version, which tasted delicious like a Kebab in a dumpling. If you ever visit the salt mine pop by this place and enjoy some slow food. I definitely recommend this place its also located in the town square with plenty of paid parking spots.

The restaurant is decorated in a very quirky Polish style. Food is served on paper plates with plastic cutlery, but the food is very tasty and feels homemade. I'm not Polish so I can't say for certain if it's as granny makes it at home, but sure felt like it.

Very fair prices and is right by the salt mine, very much worth stopping here for lunch.

I just wanted to thank the owners for being so accommodating. We had a large order and ran out of time to make it to our tour at the salt mine and had to to take everything to go. Again thank you. Unfortunately we had to wait to eat till after the tour. Everything was delicious and filled our tummies after a long tour.
