Tobogã - Portugal Canyoning Tours

What an amazing experience! We went canyoning with our three kids (6, 8 and 10 yo) and we had the best time ever!

Paulo and Andreia were great guides, they made us feel perfectly safe, and they were very patient with our youngest. I had booked a private tour, because the kids are very young and I didn’t want them to hold back an entire group of adults. We took the same route as the other groups (there’s a shorter one for kids as well, but we decided to go for this one because the difficulty level is the same), but it was nice to know that we could take our time when needed.

The gear is super: the shoes are great (and they even have a size 30), the wetsuits are pico bello (they don’t smell, don’t have holes), and they even have harnesses for smaller kids.

A big thank you to Andreia and Paulo, we will definitely be back. In fact, the kids loved it that much that we will go back tomorrow ;-)

Some practical stuff:
- Don’t forget to put on sunscreen. We put ours in our bag to put on closer to the starting point, but the bags go in another van that goes straight to the pickup point.
- There’s a short break halfway, and you get a cereal bar.
- There’s a small bar near the finish, where you can have a cool drink, eat a (very tasty) burger or reward yourself with an ice cream.

What an incredible trip. Our guides Miguel and Sousa really made it extra special, suggesting photo opportunities, games, even a little something for everyone to consume for the stag event!

The river itself is spectacular and the scenery all around was 10/10!

Don't hold back and book with these guys. They also take you via a cafe on the way back so you don't have to go back hungry. Burger and beer €7!

The best adventure we had in Portugal. The team is friendly and professional. The route is beautiful. The challenges on the way are varied and fun. Great for the whole family. We had the best time and recommend to everyone who looks for nature adventure.

My boyfriend and I had the best ever experience with this tour by Toboga (booked via Getyourguide) and most credit goes to our guide Aurelio! Apart from an excellent canyoning tour he also gave us recommendations for Porto attractions we thoroughly enjoyed. Coming to the canyoning itself- we were blessed with amazing weather, it was very safe and clearly the guides conducting it were super experienced and prepared for everything. I am a complete newbie to canyoning and it was not difficult at all so I would recommend this to everyone. One of the groups even had kids doing it.The equipment including wet suits and shoes were of top quality and added to the experience. It's great value for money and Gerês national park is a must visit if you visit Porto.

Absolutely perfect organisation! I had a wonderful day cycling around the mountain and the views were breathtaking. The e-bikes are amazingly strong and there’s no way I could do that circuit without them. My guide (Pedro Pinto) was super cool and it was one of the best days I’ve had surrounded by raw, beautiful nature and I have a ton of photos to prove it! :)

Pedro and Andreia created a fun, safe, and exceptionally exciting "canyoning" experience for us. I thought we would actually be in canyons / caves. This is not the case - we walked along the large rocks and on the rocks to the side of the river, wading upto about my waist height. When the water was deeper than that, you can simply float around since the shoes and wet suits are so bouyant! The group we were assigned to had 9 people + 2 certified guides which felt like a good size. We opted to pay €15 total extra for a pickup and drop off at our hotel in Porto. The drive was ~80 minutes to their headquarters in the national park to pick up gear (wetsuit, special socks, special shoes, helmet). Then an additional 10 minutes in a truck to the point where we started our small hike down to the river. It was so much fun! There were small ziplines, rappelling opportunities, and a few optional jumps from large rocks into the fresh water below. The actual "canyoning" is ~2 hours. Highly recommend! Great value! Note that we were given the option of keeping some items in the transport can and some in crates that would be brought to the finishing point. Consider putting dry clothes to change into, and your wallet / money for lunch in the crates. Lunch is not included. Our group decided to stop at a small casual taverna on the way back to the company headquarters. Thank you for an excellent time!

Perfect day out near Porto! We had a fantastic time and lots of fun with our main guide Miguel and the group. Unforgettable! And the equipment is great - I wanna buy some of those shoes for hiking at home!

Just a great experience. We already experienced many canyoning organisms in Europe and Toboga is definitely among the best. The canyon are accessible, fun and beautiful. And finally the restaurant at the end is making such a day a wonderful journey

Unbelievable experience! Our super friendly and supportive guides gave us multiple route options for various tricky sections. We had a group consisting of 30-63 and we all got through it with ease! Bruno and the team were amazing!

We really enjoyed our tour today and had a great time! We always felt safe but also liked the relaxed atmosphere. As it was our first canyoning tour ever we did not know what to expect, so Andreia and Lucas made it an unforgetable day! They also gave us some advices for our stay in the national park. And finally we have to mention that the whole area and path was just a beautiful piece of nature!

Very nice day in nature doing some exercise and most impotantly having fun. The guides were amazing and took a lot of photos. It was great to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some time in this amazing place. I recommend this tour to everyone who likes adventure, fun and nature.

Perfect day out while on a stag / bachelor party weekend in Porto. Great communication throughout. The guys picked us up from out accommodation in Porto in the morning, drove us to the activity and ran a great day of canyoning, jumping off cliffs, zip lining etc. We were a large group of 20 guys with hangovers, but this really sorted us out. Would recommend for large groups. Thanks guys.

We went with our 2 kids (6 and 9) and had a great time. The guides did really well with the kids and we are really grateful that they made it possible even for a 6 year old. 10 stars!!!

This was my second time with Toboga. Everything runs well. From security, to the well designed trails that allows to have challenge and also fun! The guides are always there for you, helping and sharing knowledge. Really worth it.

My friends and I had an incredible experience. Our guide, Rui, was amazing and so friendly and helpful. The national park is beautiful and it was truly an experience I will never forget. I would definitely recommend this; it is worth every penny!

Well maintained gear with friendly staff. It wasn't the thrill of a lifetime but that's to be expected with a guided tour having to accommodate all levels. If you aren't an avid adventure seeker I highly recommend it.

I would recommend the organization to anyone who wants to do an adventurous activity. We did the canyoning tour with our family, some already had done a few canyonings before and for others it was the first time. The guides are all about safety and fun for the whole group. Do not hesitate, just go for it!
