Indian Punjabi Restaurante

We were visiting Viana do Castelo with friends and searched this restaurant for lunch as it is very close to fort. Little late so it was not crowded and had lunch menu still open. The staff here is very friendly and food is delicious. All the vegetarian dishes we ordered were good. Portion size is good and lunch menu are reasonably priced.

We were looking for an Indian Restaurant in Castelo, and surprisingly found one. The food is beyond comparable to any other Indian restaurant. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a standout, featuring tender chicken in a flavorful tomato sauce. The Biryani was equally impressive, with perfectly cooked rice and aromatic spices. I am in love with Garlic Naan and Mango lassi and chutneys, specially the mint one. The waiter was so attentive and friendly, we had a great time.

It is a pretty good restaurant with good price. My wife and I had a complete meal Tikka masala and curry With sides and a delicious mango lassi for less than 30 Euros! It is totally worth it.

Who would have thought there'd be an Indian restaurant in Viana Do Castelo and that too a good one... was beginning to miss Indian food after 25 days in Portugal. They certainly fulfilled the craving! Very good Indian food! For appetizers - ordered a samosa and pakoras - both were so good that we finished them before we could take a picture :). For entree, I got chicken tikka masala, which is supposed to be their speciality. It was so good, not the usual heavily cream based sauce but much lighter and the chef relied on the tastes of the veggies/spices to bring out the flavor - comparable to the top place in the SF Bay Area! I literally wiped it out with the garlic naan (which was also very good!). My wife got a curried seafood entree - she too commented how good the base gravy was. The service was friendly and attentive. They accept credit cards but most US credit cards will not work there so you must have cash. But the prices are very good - I think we spent only about 15 E per person! Authentic Indian food, highly recommend if you visit Viana Do Castelo!

If we were locals in Viana, this would undoubtedly become our go-to spot! We've visited twice now, and both times left us completely satisfied. The food is truly delicious, and the service is friendly and fun. Our recent meal included Vegetarian Samosas, Kahari Prawn, Tarka Dal with garlic, and a delightful Peshwari Naan—each dish was incredibly tasty! A big thank you to the staff for consistently providing such wonderful dining experiences. Much appreciated!

Impressive authentic Indian food. One of the best in northern Portugal. The only thing that I don’t like is that the roti is a bit greasy.

The Food was really good, one of the best Butter Chicken and Chiken Massala that I ever tried. The waiter was really nice and very fun (Such a nice guy). Fair price for a good food ❤

Very tasty and very good service. Good balance between professionalism and chill slack indian atmosphere. The food is a bit expensive but the portions are huge (!) And very worth it. You will not be disappointed.

We were here last year and we were looking forward for months to come back! In all seriousness, the best Indian restaurant I have experienced all my life and I definitely recommend eating here. Also the waiter is really kind! 🙏🏼🤗

We love Indian cuisine and this is honestly the best we ever had. We finished it until the last drop of deliciousness. And you've got to meet the lovely waiter!

The food is really nice as well as the staff. You see they have a lot of fun in their work and know how to make a delicious dinner. I wad eating alone and had a nice talk as well. When you are from northern Europe its also very cheap for the quality you get.

Great Indian food at good prices. Great selection of starters and mains. You can choose how hot you want your curry, which is great for softies like me! Very friendly manager who speaks great English. Recommend the Butter Chicken!

The taste and quality of every meal has been incredible, flavorful, and enjoyable. We simply cannot get enough. This is why we keep coming back for more. We thrive on trying different menu items each time we dine here, and each time we are blown away by how amazing each experience is. We have been to several Indian resaurants in our lifetime. Without a doubt, Indian Punjabi Restaurante is the best that we have ever had. What is even more amazing is the affordability. We tend to always order two orders of naan, a bottle of wine, two orders of rice, and two entrees. We tend to pay 30 - 35 euros. If you live in the area, this should become a regular destination. If you are visiting, this should be on the top of your list for an awesome dining experience.

Every other review calling this place amazing are absolutely correct - sizeable portions, incredibly flavourful and so inexpensive. For a dinner we paid 31€ for 2 people and were both stuffed at the end. Would love to come again.

I recommend the onion bhaji and garlic naan!

We went there for dinner and ordered two main courses, two naans, some rice and one starter. Not only did everything taste great, but the prices were really low. (At least compared to prices in my hometown in Germany; the quality of the food can be easily compared to restaurants charging double to triple the amount of money there)

The server was helpful, pleasant and funny.

A lovely experience, the food was wonderful. We are used to curries in England, but now we live in Spain. Only 400 miles away from us, it will be worth the trip back for another ! Lovely friendly people and well worth the money.
