It’s next to a church and in the morning we heard the kids singing and having fun, very heart warming :)

We’ve spent an amazing two days in the Mud House, something that was so easy (just 1.5 hrs drive from Chiang Rai) yet so rewarding! You can totally disconnect at the same time knowing that a fast wifi is a click away. It’s up to you how to spend the time here, lovely hosts will make it happen for you.

Stunning view, delicious food (a different Thai cuisine of the Akha's). Our host was very warm indeed. The view from this place is unparalleled. Must visit!

What a charming place. The rooms were more civilized than you'd think. The meals were very good. Served in traditoonal bamboo bowls and utensils. The Akha village children showed us around. They were between about 6-11 years old. They knew every food or medicinal plant in the village!. The mayor/chief built this to benefit the village. He's an amazing person. Definitely have a chat with him.

The owner does an amazing job at offering his guests the best experience. With his growing business, he aims to engage his community through sustainable practices, using only local ingredients in the meals and local materials in the construction of the rooms. A truly unique experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to the conventional hotel stay.

The people there are very very polite and nice. The rooms are very butiful and relaxing. The view is great and impressing. There are lots of animals running around and they are really cute. If you want you can eat traditional food which is really delicious and exciting.

The best experience with the Aka local people/kids. We were taken around in the village by the local Aka kids, our kids enjoyed sooo much playing with the bamboo swing and handmade wooden mobile, tasting the fruits grown on the tree... It's just a different kind of beautiful life.

Best place to stay in the area. Been exploring the whole area and this is definitely the most authentic place to stay. Choose this place If you want to experience the real Akha Hill Tribe community while still in comfort and cleanliness, and on the top of the hill, I have not found a better place.

My husband and I stayed three nights at Akha Mudhouse and had simply an amazing time. We learned so much about the Akha Tribe culture, had great food, breathtaking views, and just felt at home. Thanks for everything!

This place is amazing. Yohum (owner) and his wife are very helpful people. The house is awesome. Very nice location. We rent a scooter in Chiang Rai and from Chiang Rai we went to the Akha Mudhouse. Breakfast(included) and dinner(not included) were delicious. Yohums wife can cook very good. The other people of the village are also very friendly. One of my best travel experience. Perfect homestay with great hospitality and views. The food is outstanding. And you will get a very good introduction to Hilltribe life. They are currently planning to build a sauna as well.

Great experiences hunting for the right bamboo and learn how to make your own basket. For whoever that love to experience the non touristic side of Mae Salong and at the same time interested in the Akha's culture. Yohan, our guide and the hotel's owner, has a great sense of awareness for the community and preserving the nature. Please support them!
