The hospital has little equipment, which prevent it from giving proper diagnosis. They have an x ray but no MRI scan and worse: no up to date knowledge about knee injuries. I arrived from Surin Island with a broken ACL. The doctor there didn't perform any check on my knee except a useless x ray. The bandage that the nurses did was a complete joke (a knee bandage for a suspicion of ligaments injury must be crossed, otherwise it is useless).
For anything serious, go to phuket (3h drive) or Bangkok (9h drive).
