SOTA Cappadocia

We had some amazing days at SOTA when visiting Cappadocia. The staff was incredibly service minded, helpful, and made the most amazing breakfast! Nil, the owner, truly welcomed us as we were her own guests, providing us with wonderful tips and advice on what to do and where to eat! All of them truly contributed to making us feel as home.

The rooms and common areas were beautiful decorated and really comfortable. Staying in the cave rooms was a great experience! We enjoyed our stay so much, and it was really one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had!

Perfect. The view from the dining terrace is superb. The room 3 is perfect for deep sleep.
The owner, Nil, is nice and very helpful.

...but don't go to Prokopi restaurant. Very expensive and disappointing food, especially meat.

Loved Sota! What's not to love here? They have a wonderful spread of breakfast every day, with very attentive and kind hotel staff. The host Nil is passionate about hosting people and about Cappadocia, so she goes the extra mile to make every guest feel welcomed and comfortable. She made some great restaurant recommendations and also proposed a planner for activities in the area! The cave rooms are designed very well, with minimal yet just perfect furnishing and decor. The property has a rich history which makes the space just that much more special. It's also in a quiet part of Urgup town, with a great view, so it's perfect after a tiring day of tourist activities. I highly recommend this to anyone that prefers a cosy boutique hotel setting compared to the regular commercial hotel chains.

We can’t speak highly enough of our stay at SOTA. Nil and her team have done an incredible job of decorating this cave hotel, so it feels luxurious, but also homey and comfortable. The staff looked after our every need, including meals, directions to the local sites, and ensuring that we had a wonderful time. No doubt we will be returning on our next visit to Turkey! Nil is a delightful host. When we arrived, she greeted us like old friends and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. She can provide many recommendations for the area and help arrange reservations, guides, anything that you need. Our room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. After a busy day of sightseeing, we relaxed on our deck with wine watching a beautiful sunset before walking into town for dinner. Urgup is charming and, in my opinion, a much better location than the tourist village of Goreme. Our only disappointment was that our stay was too short.

We stayed 3 nights at Sota and it was fantastic. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, atypical, well thought. The view is nice. The location is convenient to visit Cappadocia. But the most important and the cherry on the cake is Nil (the host) and her team. I've never seen that elsewhere. Nil is a very warm host who takes time to explain what you should see. Each morning she explains where to go, where you can eat, etc. She is passionate by her job, by her country. The team takes care of you with nice attentions. The breakfast is top. It was a very nice experience. Thanks again! You made our trip in Cappadocia better.

We stayed at SOTA Cappadocia for 4 nights back in October 2019. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic and best of all were the staff. Mrs. Nill gives fantastic recommendations and guidance. Her and the SOTA staff make you feel at home. Whether you want to relax and enjoy the caves or you want to do a hectic sightseeing trip, SOTA is your home.

This was hands down the best hotel stay I've ever experienced. SOTA Cappadocia made us feel like the most important people in the world. The entire staff was SO kind & ready to help with anything we needed including making reservations for dinner or other activities. The breakfast is incredible. Every morning the breakfast room was filled with the most amazing food I've ever eaten. The eggs were always customized & cooked to perfection for each guest & the buffet was always full, beautiful, & delicious. The staff went above & beyond in so many ways. By the time we left, they felt like genuine family.

This was a great experience. We spent a night in a cave. Enjoyed a view. The service is perfect. The owner of the boutique hotel is a very lovely lady, she made our stay very comfortable and very nice!

Just WOW!!! The hotel is in a quiet area, just a short walking distance from the center. The room interior is so delicate with many details. Nil tried to keep them as original as possible but giving them a modern touch. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of variety and home-made things. Nil and her team are super helpful - they will have your whole trip covered :) She even booked restaurants (and the balloon ride) for us! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. We definitely recommend this place! THANKS to the whole team and see you again :)

The most beautiful hotel i’ve ever been in. Its located in a very peaceful and quiet area with a great view. The whole place is tastefully decorated and the owner welcomed us with open arms. The breakfast was delicious and offered lots of plant-based options too. Very friendly service from the rest of the team. A wonderful experience - will definitely be back!

‎‏I don't usually write reviews about the hotels that I stay in,but because I loved Sota Cappadocia hotel so much , I decided to give this hotel the full mark it deseves,begining from the owner Miss Nil ,the wonderful and amazing women who welcomed us in a wonderful way and as a member of her family and with a big smile ,she was ready to give us all the abundant information we needed during our special visit to Cappadocia and gave us historical information about the place and this is not understood implicitly
Secondly the manager burak and yunis were amazing and ready for any help we needed.
The hotel was elegant ,special class stylish and historical and offers free wifi .Our room was really 5 stars,very nice and clean
The breakfast was very delicious , and most of dishes were homemade especially the jam and the cakes.

This is it! Look no further for the perfect hotel in Cappadocia. If you're lucky enough to get a place at the SOTA, your bar for what makes an excellent hotel is about to be raised. The rooms are perfect - chic, modern, elegantly lit caves with wonderful beds, spa-intensity showers and cozy outdoor terraces ideal for taking in the lovely sunsets over a cocktail from the well-stocked bar. Renowned proprietor Nil Tuncer and her staff certainly live up to their reputation as the most welcoming, trusted and professional team in the region. My husband and I came for a 2 day stay and loved it so much I returned solo a month later for 10 more. From the moment you book, Nil starts making sure your every need is attended to - shuttles, balloon flights and, if you like (we did!), daily customized itineraries. The location in Űrgűp is ideal. Tucked into a quiet valley, SOTA is close to the sights, restaurants, coffee houses and shopping but away from the chaotic tourism of Gőreme. Excellent breakfast, fluent English, perfect wifi, 24-hour kindness. In over 40 years of world travel, this is the rare hotel I'll remember forever. For the first time since the pandemic, I was able to visit Sota Cappadocia. I really missed this amazing hotel. Cappadocia is already a fairy tale place, but Sota Cappadocia is even more so. It was like sleeping in a refrigerator in the summer heat, and you may have needed a duvet at times. A warm welcome awaits every guest at Nil's Hotel. Every member of the team is always smiling, with high-energy, and aiming to make your day better. On my first chance, I will return to Cappadocia and will not look for a second address to stay.

The place is beautiful and our host Nil is an amazing lady. It’s a cave hotel with all kind of amenities. It’s a super luxurious hotel and the breakfast spread with local delicacies are mouth licking. The bed is super comfortable and spacious. The place is beautifully decorated with good interior objects. The view from the room is very nice.

We had the most amazing stay at Sota and highly recommend it! Not only is the hotel absolutely beautiful, Nil and her staff are also completely dedicated to every guest. We didn't have to plan anything, whole day tours were tailored daily to our needs. And the breakfast, fully homemade, is delicious. Don't hesitate to book your trip there, you won't regret it!

Cosy, comfortable, quiet, clean, interesting room set-up (cave style), beautiful delicious breakfast spread with lots to eat from cereals to choice of egg serving. Friendly owners and staff. We arrived late in the night and were hungry. They quickly served us beautiful fresh fruits of grapes and nectarines. They even offered tea and biscuits too. We received very good treatment at a stylish boutique hotel. Excellent recommendations on sightseeing and information on travel arrangements. Good connections with arranging tours and hot air balloon ride. We spend two nights at this hotel. Walking distance to town centre. Suitable for couples (romantic) too! Will definitely stay at this hotel again!

What a treat! I have travelled all over Europe and Asia and this is my first time leaving a review because this place was incredible. The staff was so attentive and made a stay just wonderful. The design was gorgeous, the food was delicious and we were treated like family. Please do not miss out on an experience like this!
