I admire the love for details you can acknowledge on the exterior walls of this mosque, next level ottoman design compared to the more iconic mosques of Istanbul. The interior design is typical of the ottoman style & similar to other restaurants from this era.

By far, one of the most beautiful mosques in Istanbul. Beautiful stone work outside and great frescoes inside.

The Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosque, is also known as the Aksaray Valide Mosque. It is one of the last mosques built in Istanbul during the Ottoman Empire. The Mosque was built for Pertevniyal Sultan, wife of Sultan Mahmud II and mother of Sultan Abdülaziz.

The construction took three years to complete.

The mosque was commissioned in 1871. Pertevniyal Sultan died in 1884, thirteen years after the completion of the mosque, and was then buried within it.
