Been there twice and it was closed both of the times. However the real gem lies on the prairie in front if the church. There are 2 other rock churches in the prairie and one can easily access these by clear paths. Check these out. They are really marvelous and for sure your mind will be blown by the beauty of them.

Very beautiful and different ancient area. All the rooms of these churches are carved into the rock. Unique.

The main church was closed when I was there, but there are still some interesting caves/churches in the valley below. This is off the beaten path, so if you want to avoid the crowds, this is a good choice. It's located on a dirt road, but still accessible to most cars. Good photo-ops here.

Сам старый храм находится внизу спустившись с горы, там остаток фресок, место хорошее и интересное. Всем рекомендую.

Mustafapaşa, formerly known as Sinasos, is a village in the Ürgüp District of Nevşehir Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,295. Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town. It lies to the west of Gomeda valley and is 5 kilometres away from Ürgüp and 27 kilometres away from Nevşehir town. The town is named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the military leader and first president of Turkey. Like most of Cappadocia, Mustafapaşa used to depend for a living on agriculture., especially grape-growing. source
