Kenting National Forest Recreation Area

There are lots of points of interest in this well laid out park. The landscape is predominantly exposed coral and forest that includes dramatic tree growth.

The paths are all paved but there are lots of stairs. A paper map is provided when you enter.

There are two caves, which are well lit and have interpretive signs. There are some very narrow points that might challenge large people.

We glimpsed some of the macaques that live in the park at Ape Cliff.

The view from the top of the lookout is spectacular and accessible by lift and stairs.

We paid NT100 each for park entry. Weekends are NT150.

Parking costs extra.

There are a couple of cafes, one in the observation tower and one at the visitor centre.

Allow a couple of hours for a gentle stroll that takes in all the main points of interest.

Nice large area to walk in with incredible landscapes and spectacular forests. The view from the Viewing Tower was breathtaking, and the two caves we went through were so beautiful. I have never seen such a concentration of butterflies in a wild setting.

Stopped by here an hour or so before closing to have a short walk around. A typhoon hit just a week ago, so many trees were felled / damaged by the wind and the staff are busy cleaning up the debris. Even so, we found the landscape to be beautiful and lush. We saw many birds including wagtails and a Taiwan Barbet, a couple of macaques munching on some leaves, and even a bat hanging in one of the caves! We practically had the place to ourselves since it was near closing hour. Walking through the caves was magical as you couldn’t hear any outside sounds. We didn’t have enough time to walk all the trails or visit the top of the viewing tower, but we plan to visit again on our way out of Kenting. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and enjoy nature! Parking was easy at the entrance.

Lovely park with so much to do! Explore caves, see beautiful animals (including monkeys, squirrels, birds, butterflies, and bats!), admire the beautiful sea and mountain vistas.

The amazing national park is full of marvelous landscapes. With entrance just outside popular Kenting night markets, it’s both easy to find and easy to neglect. A great place to visit in the morning for a casual walk, especially after a full stomach from the night market last night.

A bit touristy but pleasant 1- 1.5 hour walk with signs along the way explaining flora and geology.

Beautiful nature and landscape! Definitely worth exploring for the whole day!

Great place for a half day hike. The caves are well lit and easy walking. Beautiful. Price for admission was reasonable and parking not bad.

Lots of trail for different ability. Many of them are handicap and stroller accessible. The coral cliff and wild monkeys are very unique

Worth visiting when you are in Kenting. Relatively easy walk trail, should take around 2 hours roundtrip.

It’s a relaxing place to stay ．There are a lot of green plants and pretty mutations ！
