20 years of operation! Most of service crew are senior citizens. Good and friendly service.

This is authentic local soya bean drinks. With a bit of over burn taste, which is their signature. There are many variety of fried “dim sum” and Xiao long bao.

10 of us visited on a working Monday 11am. Not pack and fast service. We finished all dishes we ordered which were almost all the dishes.

Lai Lai Soybean Milk Shop in Taichung offers a delightful journey into the heart of traditional Taiwanese cuisine, with its most notable feature being the distinctive charred taste of its soybean milk. Located in the vibrant streets of Taichung, this eatery captures the essence of authentic flavours, and while it may not be perfect, it is undoubtedly a must-visit for food enthusiasts. One of the standout items at Lai Lai Soybean Milk Shop is their traditional soybean milk. It possesses a unique and acquired charred taste that sets it apart from other soybean milk vendors in the region. This distinct flavour may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you appreciate a hint of smokiness in your soymilk, you're in for a treat. One of the highlights of my visit was the egg pancake. It was a delightfully fluffy and savoury companion to the soybean milk. The balance of flavours and textures was spot-on, making it a perfect choice for breakfast or a snack. The beef noodles are another standout item on the menu. The rich and hearty broth complements the tender beef slices, creating a satisfying dish that embodies the heartiness of Taiwanese cuisine. If you're a fan of beef noodles, this one is a must-try. Unfortunately, not every item on the menu lives up to the high standards set by their soybean milk and beef noodles. The fried fritters (油条) and Taro Cake, while flavorful, are disappointingly oily. This excessive oiliness tends to overpower the other flavours, making these options less appealing.

This is one of the best breakfasts in Taichung city. I think it's better than the one got Bib Gourmand in Taipei, the one near aTPE station. This "Taipei Neihu Lailai Soybin milk" o1st store still located in Taipei but the food quality in Taichung branch is superior which is weird. I tried so many times in both shops but only TCH provides delicacy in consistency.

Being a big fan of scallion cakes, I've high expectations of this place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the smell of fried eggs and onions and fresh flour, causing us to hasten our pace to find a seat.

We ordered most of the available items and loved every single one. However, our personal favourite was the egg and scallion folded pancake.

Breakfast with friends. Really enjoyable local Taiwanese delicacies. Pretty old school and where locals come. Enjoyed everything I tried including the scallion pancakes, the cold soya bean drink and the salted soya bean among others. Definitely worth trying.

It was a new experience to try the traditional Taiwanese breakfast on our 2nd day in Xitun District, Taichung City. We walked all the way from our lodging in Sichuan 3rd Street to this shop along Wenxin Road early in the morning before we headed to our booked daytrip meeting place. Good thing that they are open 24 hours, we didn't have to worry about coming too early and having to wait. You get attended to as soon as you walk into the restaurant. You just have to point on their food on display to let them know of your orders. We satisfied our bellies with carbs and egg-filled meal and washed down with dou jiang (soy milk), cold version for my companion and the hot one for me. Your Taiwanese-breakfast is not complete if you don't try this beverage. I got a bit too excited and wanted to try a little bit of everything. I didn't mind as they were just affordable. What I ordered were excessive for just two people - they're quite heavy! We tried to finish them all but we just decided to wrap you tiao (twisted cruller) to go. We're super full by the end of our breakfast we felt like crawling on our way to the bus stop.

Everytgung I tried was delicious. Came back 3 days in a row for breakfast. Staff were very kind and patient with my pointing and google translating what I wanted as I don't speak or read Mandarin.
I definitely recommend! Being 24hrs is a plus, as many restaurants nearby close around 8pm

The Beef Rolls (牛肉捲) here are the best although a bit expensive. Be sure to try it, and the Soy Milk (豆漿) is unique with a little bit of "roasted" taste note.

Simple and fuss free breakfast :) the dou jiang has a very unique taste. Headed there for late breakfast on a weekday so we did not squeeze with the breakfast crowds.

Wonderful place. Traditional Taiwanese fare. I like the burnt or smokey smell of the soy milk. If you haven't tried it, do so.
Short walk from an MRT station.

Typical Taiwanese eatery. Great food at a great price. The menus are all in Chinese, but for breakfast they have an assortment of dishes at the front so you can point to what you want.

I speak Chinese (but can't read a lick of it) so I was able to order stuff that was on the menu by asking what they had.

I got three dishes and a soy milk drink and it came out to $8 USD equivalent.
