這站只有紅52公車，從新左營站到中山大學，沿途除了蓮池潭之外，還會經過美術館、愛河、駁二藝術特區、西子灣等西域著名風景區。所以如果是旅遊者，倘若不趕時間的話，也可以考慮搭公車，可在過程中坐車賞景，看看高雄市近年來的美化與進步。台鐵與捷運雖然比較快，但畢竟是地下化，無法搭車兼賞景，想要欣賞都會風光，公車是不錯的選項之一。
