Arashi Braised Minced Pork

It’s one of my favorite shops at the Second Market. Love their minced pork, it’s cheap and tasty meal. They also sell the minced pork in a jar so you can bring it home. I always visit this shop whenever I’m in Taichung.

The shop is well positioned shortly from the entrance and directly opposite the fish shop which also sells sushi ( between NT 200 -300). Food is good especially the potato leaves and service is fast. For ordering, just fill up the order list ( plastic card) near counter. If no preference for table no, just pay your money and you will be given table no tag. The seating ( next door) arrangement is quite tight due to space constraints. Try to be there before 11 am as lunch crowd may start streaming in.

The staff was nice to have us take a look at the menu and order, after he called our number, the kitchen could immediately make our food so that we would not wait for too long.

The food was so yummy that I would have like 5 bowls of rice. :P

Have to wait for quite long but the food was good. We ordered combination soup and the minced pork noodle. Both were good and go very well together.

The ground meat stew on rice n combination soup are delicious. Mince meat stew is well marinate n braised long hours, high recommend to try this. The fishball in the soup is great not the usual bouncy type. Can skip the meat ball, taste abit dry. It is small place with few seating in this market, recommend to come mid morning weekday if u were to dine in.

It’s delicious and cheap.the pork of rice tasted good,and the soup tasted good as well.Maybe you could try some spicy sauces with rice or the other food.It’s said that that’s a local method of eating

We ordered the combination soup and minced meatball and meat stew on rice. The fish balls in the soup have a good texture and were very flavourful, pork rice was really good too.
If you’re dining in, order and pay by the counter and they will assign you a seat.

Nestled in Taichung Second Market. Delish rice/noodles with meaty toppings! Space is small and be prepared for a short wait. Service is polite and patient.

Their meat sauce meatball rice was excellent whereas the meat sauce sliced pork rice was just good. The meat sauce and the meat balls really stood out.

This was the best meat sauce associated rice I had all morning, in hindsight. The next two stops in Taichung Second Market were complete disasters, which goes to show not everyone can competently make a meat sauce rice.

For the egg noodles, don't forget to mix it with the red bottles sauce and vinegar on the table to make it nice. Minced meat ball rice pretty fresh n tasty too.

Delicious mince pork over rice and also tasty soups to go with the rice dishes. Pretty small but very clean considering it is in an old market.

We tried minced meat rice and minced meat with fishball noodles. They were delicious.

Delicious Bowl of Rice or noodles. perfect way to start the day in Tai Chung. Place your order on the cards displayed at the shop front and wait for your number to be called.

Will probably be a 15-20min wait during peak hours. Use the time to take a walk around the other well known stalls.

Delicious! They give you real meat, not only fat part.

Super good dry egg noodles with bean sprouts and minced braised pork mixture on top, and also the rice with braided pork and meatballs was delicious!! Super fast service but only thing is I wish serving sizes were a big bigger for how much you pay for. But it's delicious and I definitely recommend to explore second market in Taichung if you're visiting ~

We stumbled upon this shop in Taichung Second Market. The food was really good and affordable. Highly recommended!!!!! Would love to come back again!!! 😍
