The former residence of the U.S. ambassador in Taiwan, Spot was founded by director Hou Hsiao Hsien and is a popular place for film lovers. Despite the fairly old theatre and equipment, the film selection is always interesting, with lots of themed retrospectives.
There's a very nice teahouse and a small movie shop in the building. Charming - a walk out of time .

Back in the day when Taiwan and the US were still in diplomatic relation, this place used to be the official residence of the US ambassador. In fact, when Richard Nixon visited Taiwan, he stayed here as well. Now this white western mansion has turned into the movie center and named as "Taipei Film House". This is one of the few places in Taipei that plays art films from all over the world.

After a film, enjoy a good meal. This neighborhood is also one of the most famous dining area in Taipei. From authentic Japanese cuisine, to traditional Beijing roast duck, there are simply too many to choose from.

Loved the snazzy and retro stuff they sold here. From music to daily goods to electronics. Set in a colonial style bungalow with a cafe that serves tea and coffee. Nice.

A good alternatives for non block buster movies. Nice yards and balcony for a coffee or just to chill.

But, go on weekday, weekend it's quite packed and the ambience lost.

A lovely, elegantly restored building, super menu and lovely coffee with, get this, outside, YES, outside seating! Plus a cute artsy gift shop.

This building was once the residence of the American Consulate in Taiwan. The snacks and coffee are delicious- stop in the gift shop for some truly unique local finds made by artisans and designers from Taiwan.

Great atmosphere overall, in the former US Ambassador's residence. They tend to show films that you can't see in most commercial theaters.

Beautiful, also the restaurant is not so expensive.

The food is pretty nice and I love  pie so much ! I'm sure that hygienic condition is the best !
