Jinzun Surf House

Great place base yourself to chill, relax and surf. Also bike rental to check out other beaks along the coast. Good local surf break. Helpful owners and staff. Great breakfast available, also coffee and pizza, and full kitchen facilities make for easy living. We stayed for a week in a large clean family room. Highly recommended if you are a surfer.

Is a dream House! I was here for 12 days and was really amazing. The room was very confortable, clean and beautiful. Also the common areas, they are very complete!
But the best for sure is the people and the good vibe. The owner Ula and Irene are so nice and fun people, they make this place even better. Irene cooks so good! I joined the family dinner they do once a week and was such a nice experience.
I will come back 100% and recommend to everyone who wants to come to this area!

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at! Very kind staff and a super welcoming atmosphere. The hostel is very clean, organized, and has a high level of convenience when it comes to renting a board or motorbike. There’s a communal essence to Jinzen Surf House that makes me want to return at some point in the near future. I was only there for 3 nights but could definitely stay much longer next time I visit. Besides surfing there’s also mesmerizing hikes and sightseeing. You won’t regret staying at Jinzen Surf House!

Wulala is an amazing host and will go the extra mile to make you comfortable and have whatever you need for your vacation.

We planned to stay for 10 days but stayed for and entire month eventually because we like it so much.

Very clean and renovated place compared to other places in the area with the same price.

Best thing is how close the place is to the surf spots! 2 minutes walk to Jinzun break and 5 minutes to the inside Harbour (also and amazing wild beach)

Would definitely go back again.

I couldn’t do any surfing because of a typhoon, but it was probably my best time in Taiwan. Such a peaceful place, and nice people. I felt home at Jinzun Surf house. I took yoga classes with Irene instead and it was awesome! I totally recommend this place 🥰

The 3 days 2 nights trip was totally worth it!! We were able to have enough knowledge to surf ourselves after 2 days of lessons. We got to see the sunrise and surf after on the last day of our trip.

My husband and I had the BEST time. Ula was amazing and had a scooter available for us when we arrived with a surf board rack. Board rentals were really convenient on site. Our loft was super modern and clean. Surf breaks just steps away and some of the most beautiful aqua water we have seen in Taiwan. Having a fridge and kitchen with supplies was also a welcome surprise. We will definitely be back again and again!

Thank you so much for lovely 3 weeks! Absolutely loved the place (and all wood design details in the room -wow!). Epic location, available kitchen to use, cute coffee shop to get something to eat and amaaaazing staff. Also loved the quiet and local neighborhood, exactly how we like it. Could not ask for anything more!

Beautiful little Surf House close to multiple beaches, has everything you need if youre a surfer and a big variety of rooms. No matter if you want to socialise or have some peache and quiet, you get it here. There even is a little bar / play area where you can hang out or eat something, would recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to calm down for a few days on the east coast!

Spent seven days surfing at the Jinzun Surf House in mid-March 2023. Its located within a few minutes walk from two breaks -- small harbor and main harbor. You can have your morning coffee and breakfast while watching the waves at either break at sunrise. You can run along the coast through the beaches, harbor, and onto the local roads and fit in long, tempo, and/or speed work. There are also two separate protected beaches on either side of an isthmus with a cat shaped cave.

Its obvious that Ula (owner) has spent a lot of time and energy making Jinzun Surf House special and perfect -- its in harmony with the village and neighbors and the stunning mountain backdrop. The vibe is effortlessly chill with a minimalist aesthetic. Steps from the open kitchen is a secluded gathering area that is great for meditation, yoga, cross training, reading a book, finishing your novel, taking a nap.

I think the small harbor is also culturally significant -- an indigenous tribe gathered at the beach during an early afternoon session. Its so beautiful here that you feel closer to the gods. Like the waves, the surf house has its own rhythms changing by the day. You'll meet with visitors from across Taiwan and globally, pulled here to surf and make friends and leaving wishing we could stay longer.

Great place to rent a board. Surf spots are within walking distance. Chill owner and accommodating staff.

We volunteered at Jinzun surf house for over 2 months and absolutely loved it! The guesthouse is located a 15 minute walk or short scooter ride from Donghe town. The area is quiet and is just a stones throw away from a number of surf spots suitable for all abilities. As volunteers we would clean the rooms and common area daily as well as various other tasks that might be needed such as painting and gardening for a couple of hours each day. We were given the use of a scooter and surf boards which was great to get to other surf spots and explore the amazing east coast! Ula the host is the nicest guy you will meet and we had so much fun hanging out with him. He was full of information about things to do and the best places to eat and we tried some of the more exotic local foods (Ula is a good man for the chicken feet!) Jinzun surf house has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. I would highly recommend staying at Jinzun surf house either as a guest or a volunteer. You wont regret it!

Jinzun surf house is very close to the surf point, it was just few minutes walking distance and also we could get another great surf point with bike. May is right after surf season in Taitung but we had such a great waves everyday at both the harbor and the rivermouth.

The surf house was very comfortable with bed, AC and private shower room. There is not much around the house expect surf point and small local cafe but neighbors were super nice and I wished I could speak in mandarin. People were so friendly and helpful all the time. And of course, we could get to the town with bike and they have local restaurants, surf shops and convenience store which was very useful.

And last but not least, house owner Ula was super helpful all the time. He made sure we have everything we need, showed us recommended restaurants and surf spots. I will definitely come back when the season starts.

Had an excellent stay here. Originally booked for a week and ended up extending and staying a month. If you are serious about improving and working on your surfing this is the place for you. Short distance to several surf breaks, suitable for all levels.

The hostel itself is clean and homey and has all the amenities you need. Strong wifi, good showers, and has a kitchenette where you can cook. Ula is a great host and I would definitely come back.

Perfect location for surfers. I couldn’t recommend this place more. I came for 3-4 days and ended up staying for two months. I’d live here if I could! Wulala is the best. The rooms are clean, well maintained and comfortable. Scooters with surf racks available for rental. Simple kitchen stocked with every kitchen tool you need to make your own meals. There’s even a hand held blender, convenient for making smoothies if that’s your thing. I would stay here again!

We had a great stay at Jinzun surf house! Intended to stay for two nights but decided to extend because we liked it so much (stayed in the private double with ensuite bathroom). It has recently opened and is within walking distance to three surfspots. The host is super nice and made us feel very welcome, helped us a lot with recommendations on restaurants and things to do around the area. You can rent a board, but I would recommend bringing your own spring suit or 3/2 mm for winter as it got quite chilly in the wind. The place itself is really idyllic in a small village next to the Harbour and close to Donghe town where you can find a couple of shops and restaurants but I would definitely recommend renting a scooter or a car to get around. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, highly recommended.

The former fishermen's houses were renovated into modern and cozy guestrooms. There's a semi-outdoor kitchenette and a common area where you can cook and relax with other residents or just chill.
The surf point is within 5 minutes walk from the guesthouse; and if you're lucky, the neighborhood dogs (which are very friendly) might walk with you and keep you company to the beach and back.
They do scooter and surfboard rental too. Great place for surfers or sea swimming lovers. Will definitely go back.
