Mkoani Home stay

We’ve had three short stays at Dee’s place between some travelling and it felt like coming home every time we got back to Mkoani. Absolutely lovely host, easy communication and a beautiful accommodation with all you need. Once she ordered food from Chopstix for us. So nice!
Would recommend 100%!

The moment you step through the gate, you feel at home. Such a beautiful, peaceful place with a host that makes you feel like you are family. Highly recommended and will definitely come back.

We loved our stay at Mkoani Homestay. We originally planned to stay one night but stayed three! It’s a perfect place to relax and rejuvenate and a great base for Kilimanjaro tours. Dee is a wonderful host and a great cook and we loved eating breakfast and dinner in the garden. Would highly recommend.

We had a really lovely stay at Mkoani. The host is exceptionally welcoming and helpful ♥. The area is not central, but if you are looking for a quiet place with a walking distance to a really good place to eat - go for Mkoani! D helped us with every small thing we asked: airport transfer, taxi to city centre, gift shops, exchange, open broken lock on a luggage 😂. ..

I stayed here before and after my trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Di was a wonderful and incredibly helpful host.

Di also organized a day trip to Chemka hot springs for me which was a great way to relax after the hike.

Mkoani Homestay is an oasis in Moshi and Dee is the most kind & caring host. It is located on a quiet, leafy street close to great restaurants. I loved my stay there and hanging out with Dee and other travellers.

Tip: Book ahead as there are not many rooms and it can fill up.

We had the best time at Dee's house. It was a once in a lifetime experience since you immediately become part of the group of people living at the house and everyone is incredibly welcoming. They create an atmosphere where everyone feels at home and as part of the group. They helped organising decently priced trips and taxi rides and sometimes even joined us on our adventures around Moshi. I can only recommend staying here, it's the best place to meet cool people and explore Moshi with them.

Dee's place is just amazing, you come here and feel like being at home right away. The rooms are cleanly and cozy and the garden is absolutely beautiful. Dee, the owner, served us wonderful breakfast in the garden every morning and helped with anything we wanted to know or needed during our stay. If we ever get back to Moshi we know where we are going to stay! :)

Dee, Peter and Far are the most incredible hosts! They made sure I had everything I needed for a pleasant stay, and they even made the effort to show me around town so I knew where to go to find the best food, shops and markets. The house is very comfortable and they made me feel like I was family from the moment I arrived. The breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit every day. If I am back in Moshi again I will definitely stay at Mkoani Homestay!

We stayed for 4 nights and had such an amazing time! The home is so lovely and homely and everyone was so welcoming. We had a lot of fun with Dee, Peter and Far and immediately felt like part of the family. Dee is a great host, she’s a very kind person and also cooked us a very tasty meal on the first night! And the breakfast by Dee and Far was great every morning. We will definitely be back one day and will be sure to recommend to others!

A house full of peace and kindness. The good people living in it attract good people coming to it.
They’ll take care of you from generous breakfast, to beautiful activities like paining and cooking classes, options of nearby excursions or just an easy and effortless company on an evening veranda.
The rooms are clean and clearly put together with much effort and heart to it, and so is the specious garden. There’s a cozy sitting room, fully equipped kitchen and a bonfire place on site. And if you happen to miss anything, they’ll do anything to help out if you ask.

My stay at Dee’s place was incredible in every way. She is a super welcoming and super friendly hostess. The house is perfect, really spacious and comfortable!
On top of that Dee cooks wonderfully and is always very attentive to her guests.
Thanks to her I was able to discover the coolest places in Moshi and meet her friends.

The Mkoani Homestay was one of our favourite places to stay in Tanzania! Dee gave us an incredibly warm welcome, took us in like family members and prepared wonderful food for us. 🥰
It is not a matter of course here and not easy for a woman to set up her own business, so we have all the more respect for what Dee has built up in her lovely homestay!
The room was very clean, the garden and the terrace invites you to relax and she also made sure that we catch the right bus to our next destination and offers also tours around Moshi!
By the way, in the garden you have a great view of Kilimanjaro.🏔

Dee is an amazing host ! The house and the rooms are really welcoming and peaceful, we felt at home ! You will enjoy the calm of the area and the kindness of her friends and family. They have been helpful and good advisors for all activities during our trip. We had a very nice time with Dee, Far, Peter and all the other travellers we had met there, we warmly recommand to spend several days at Mkaoni Homestay !

Had a very pleasant stay at Dee’s house, super comfortable (truly feels like home) and Dee will provide anything you need. Breakfast every morning with delicious tea that I already miss so much. Regarding activities and transport, it can all be taken care of if you discuss what you want to see. Highly recommend! :)

the location is perfect and is close to everything you would ever need. the room are big and super clean. the breakfast is absolutely delicious.
Darlie welcomed us with open arms and big a smile. gave the best service and helped us with everything we needed. Darlie also helped us discover the city and took us to so many amazing trips that we would never experience no where else.

The staff here made me feel so at home. They cooked lovely food, made great conversation, helped me sort out a few logistical problems and even lent me a SIM card for a couple of days. I also got a really great tour of the local markets. Fantastic hosts and the perfect base for exploring Kilimanjaro. Thank you all

Great, helpful and informative host Dee :)
The location is a little outside the city center, but is very peaceful and quiet.

I was cycle touring Kilimanjaro 360C, Peter & Dee went an extra mile with makng me happy as a guest, lovely quiet location, but people make this place worth visiting, I left their my knive and Peter was kind enough to send it back to Europe with german / swiss guests.
