У старовинних Пустомитах, невеличкому поселенні на Львівщині, що отримало статус міста лише у 1988 році, проживає всього близько дев’яти тисяч містян, але тут велику увагу приділяють залученню городян до занять спортом. У місті є свій стадіон і футбольний клуб "Пустомити".

Крім тренувань місцевого спортивного клубу і його домашніх матчів на міському стадіоні, що вміщує близько 500 глядачів, тут проходять також зустрічі аматорських команд у рамках Кубка України з футболу, різні міські заходи – святкування Дня міста, Дня незалежності України. Ці свята відрізняються широким залученням городян в спортивні змагання типу "Мама, тато і я – спортивна сім’я", проходять футбольні турніри серед учнів місцевих шкіл. У рамках підготовки до проведення в Україні та Польщі чемпіонату Європи з футболу "Євро-2012" передбачалося в райцентрі створити реабілітаційний центр і тренувальну базу зі стадіоном, але планам цим не судилося збутися.

About Pustomyty
City in Ukraine

Pustomyty is a city in Lviv Raion, Lviv Oblast of Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Pustomyty urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 9,372. For centuries Pustomyty belonged to Ruthenian Voivodeship, Kingdom of Poland. In 1772 it was annexed by the Habsburg Empire, where it remained until late 1918. In the Second Polish Republic, Pustomyty was part of Lwów Voivodeship. Pustomyty is a small town located in south-western outskirt of Lviv city. It is the administrative center of Pustomyty district. The town lies on the intersection of railway line Lviv-Stryi-Chop and local road T-1416 Lviv-Medenychi. The earliest mention of the settlement in official documents is dated by 1441. “Pustomyty” title most likely has the geographical origins. source
