One of the best railroad museums out there! Lots of amazing memorabillia, pictures, and a breath taking 1950's era ho scale model from New Pekin through Salem to Campbellsburg Indiana almost felt like the Monon was not dead. Staff is amazing and very helpfull.

Was there for Halloween movie night, but I got a quick look around, and it is nice.

I love all the history about the Monon and nice keepsakes in the gift store; have fond memories riding on this train from Salem, IN to Bedford, IN to see our grandparents. When the world seemed more safe; our ages in the summer of 1961 were 10, 7, 6, 4, and 9 mos. We went without our parents with no worries. Awesome childhood memories of our sweet Mamaw Sallee waiting on us at the train station in Bedford.

A nice, well-organized railroad museum, especially if you’re interested in the Monon. There is a lot of Monon railroad memorabilia but there’s plenty on hand from other railroads as well. Be sure to visit the basement to see the large scenic (and automated) HO scale model railroad.

This place has a lot of good history and good pictures of the old railroad that came through this region. The Depot the whole story from each Town including pictures of what it used to look like.

A wonderful place in a nice small town. I would highly recommend visiting.

Outstanding display of railroad memorabilia plus an HO layout in the lower level. If you are anywhere near Salem and interested in the Monon, you must go. Of course if you know about the Monon, you probably already know of the Depot.

Old settlers day was a great opportunity to tour the depot with my grkids. A must see for all ages.

This museum is amazing, if you are coming to the area to learn about the history of Salem the depot is a great place to go, a true wealth of knowledge.
