Cedar Bluffs Nature Preserve is one of my favorite nature preserves in Indiana. The large rock bluffs provide for some great scenery and views from the top. Clear Creek runs through the property and is pretty nice creek. The trail is not long but a little rugged in spots. I highly recommend this place.

beautiful creek ive waded it my whole life and caught amzing fish from 10 lb catfish and carp the size of me in deep holes and trophy sized smallmouth, largemouth and rockbass in the currents. tons and tons of amazing wildlife aswell deer, turkey, beaver, otter, bobcat, coyote, snakes and turtles and so much more you cant beat this stretch of creek if you know what your doing you’ll constantly catch fish all day.

Secluded getaway for those with limited time. Good hike. Beautiful. One of my fav spots to go!
Update 05/06/2023 It's been 2 years since i last came here and was sadly disappointed. Impossible. Impassable. Due to high water and lots of debris, first time in 10 years that i haven't been able to hike through around to climb up on the bluffs.

Gradually visiting all of the nature preserves in the state. This one didn't disappoint.

It was surprising to find such interesting rock features this close to Bloomington (quarries excluded).

It was a nice quick hike on an abnormally warm and clear January day.

Great hiking. If you go with kids they may need help scrambling over the rocks. The view from the bluffs is amazing - particularly at sunset/sunrise!

Love this place! Climbing up to the bluff was fun and challenging. Very beautiful creek and we had a friendly dog as a tour guide the whole way.

Hike along the bottom of the bluff is not for the faint of heart, but is doable if you have balance and confidence - also totally worth the effort. Try the walk up the creekbed for some ancient vibes.

It's off the beaten path but gorgeous. You follow this large creek a lot of the way. It is very rugged in spots so you need to be careful around the cliffs. Plenty of wildlife to see. I saw fish, a crane, and Bald Eagle just to name a few. I'll go back a lot to this one.

The trail along the creek is rugged and difficult. For those who can scramble over loose rocks and fallen trees the view of the wild flowers on the cliff face is worth it. The view from the cliff top is wonderful.

One of my favorite nature preserves in Indiana. Absolutely beautiful year round. I would not recommend if you are not atleast moderately in shape. The beach area is the only area you should really go to if not. Also be aware of the extreme drop off on top of the bluffs if you have dogs or small children with you.

This place was amazing!! As others have mentioned, there was This sweet and cute little Pup who literally came over to us right after we pulled in and was our trail guide the entire way! We named her Buddy :). She was very eager to show us around and once we got to the creek wanted us to incessantly throw sticks out to her to fetch. She actually made the trip quite enjoyable. Her tag says that she lives nearby and to let her be. She is quite friendly and sweet! My husband and I attempted to hike the trail but after about 10-15 min, the trail practically goes straight up the face of the cliff. We hiked partway up and decided I might break my neck or leg so ended up going down to the creek. IMO that was the very best part!! SO SO BEAUTIFUL! we waded in it for about an hour. So clear and clean and refreshing with a bit of a current! I would have been perfectly happy to stay all day but we had to leave. Highly recommend for the views!

One of the most serene spots around blgtn. Trickling water, clear water, and the upkeep by parks n rec, whom does an amazing job!!! Great fishing! Rock hunting galore! Family fun, trails are easy to navigate...certainly recommend this place.

It's ancient and peaceful around the bluffs and the creek. But the beautiful little Australian Shepherd that greets ya and walks you through the paths is the greatest reward for me. She waited 3 hrs by my car I guess cause I was the last one there little after dark and she was laying down by my driver door. Much needed love from an unlikely place and animal. Made my year worth being here just in my first trip there so all good memories from here out 🎉

The trail is more difficult than just walking down a dirt path but is definitely worth the trek up the bluffs. Very epic up there.

Even if you don't want to go up the bluffs the creek is very scenic, relaxing, and the Bluffs even have an unofficial dog guide.

You'll come for for Bluffs but stay for that amazing Shepard dog!!
