Monroe Lake Spillway

Amazing hidden place in the hills along the lake. Large meadow and picnic area for a sunny afternoon lunch. Steep hiking trails to top of cliffs can be a fun challenge, but the views are totally worth it. Nice place for a quick break and exploring for the afternoon.

Went there at 3am in the morning for clicking the stars yet it was bad day for us cause it was almost full moon still we got such pics. Nice place to hangout with friends and family and if you are photography interested person go there at night with tripod and good camera you will love it in dark night with sky full of stars.

(P.S. don't go if you are afraid of dark at night)

Awesome place to get away from every day life. A place of peace and quietness. Beautiful views of rock walls and the lake.

Beautiful place to walk around, definitely lowers your stress of a daily routine. My kids love this place.

Nice place to spend some quiet time outside btown. Try to hike on the hills on the either side of the spot for an enchanting view of the lake. Place includes fire and barbecque stand. Because of less light pollution , you can literally see the galaxy at night. Try to avoid cloud days for better view of the stars at night.

If you love a quiet place and see the amazing view of Lake Monroe, its difficult to beat this place. You will have to park your car, and walk 5 minutes to see the view of the lake.

Beautiful place for a photo shoot or picnic

There's Open Fields on both sides of the sidewalk all the way to the lake I would say about three football fields worth great place to take your dogs to run although they're supposed to be on a leash. It ends on a rocky Bank to the lake that's a very reasonable to navigate couple of picnic tables on the bank as well as a place to cookout on each side of the field you have I would take Hills that you can climb up there pretty steep be careful on those people have fallen and gotten hurt a great place to enjoy the lake with your family your friends your pets or even by yourself

Lake Monroe is a wonderful place I have been coming for my entire life. The lake is beautiful and has many areas accessible on foot. The spillway is one of my favorites for its range of seclusion in spots but areas for large parties and sports fun as well as fishing.

Absolutely gorgeous. A wide open space between 2 limestone cliffs. They have some tables and fire rings out for folks. A really nice spot for a cook out.

The Lake was still and serene. Also enjoying the view was a Bald Eagle!
