Free Spirit Campground

I cannot say enough nice things about Free Spirit! Mike and Karen (owner) are good people and do wonderful job on the upkeep of the grounds, not to mention the work Mike does to keep improving the place. You see him around working all the time.
The price is good and fair. The lots are spacious with full hookups, wood picnic tables, and fire rings. The amenities are great especially the pool which isn't huge, but it's perfect for the size of the campground. Theres also mini golf, a basketball court, a nice playground and pavilion, a pool table, and plenty of space for walking your dog. Also, propane on site is awesome.
We stayed in a cabin one night, and they are great too! Just note, the stairs to the top bunk are steep, and there is no bathroom, but the bathhouse is just a short walk away. They are cozy and well kept.
We really enjoyed 4th of July here and Halloween! Also good to note, you are about 15 minutes outside of town, but there is a gas station and dollar general close by. This campground is geared towards families and working people, so loud and / or disruptive behavior is not tolerated... longest review I've ever posted 😂

It is a beautiful well kept campground. It has a playground and nice facilities. We tent camped and it had electric and a fire ring- we usually primitive camp in the middle of the wilderness but it was too cold so we ended up at this place so we could plug in our heater. This is not the usual places we tend to stay because we like to be in complete darkness in middle of nowhere with nothing but the sounds of the night around us.. therefore, it was not our cup of tea, BUT for families or people who like to be in a real campground and not some cleared spot in nowhere, this is it for you. They have a mini golf course and close enough to town to get stuff you need. If I had a family I would come back here. The owner was very nice and the place was pretty. We just don't really like being around people or lights. Thanks for the accommodations :)

The owner was super nice. Spots are well spaced. Quiet and refreshing. Highly recommend!

This is a nice campground. Everything in walking distance. Monroe Lake is not far from here. The young adults liked playing pool and the putt putt golf. The kids liked the playground and the swimming pool. The husband liked the friendly owners and firewood being dropped of at the campsite. It's a very nice place to camp and hang out.

We travel full time and this is one of the better places we have stayed. Prices super reasonable. Internet is the best we have seen and we work full time from the RV. Really spacious sites. Super woodsy and camp feeling. Full hook up. Pool. And the owner is literally the nicest human ever. We would absolutely stay again. We were sad to leave.

Great campground, the owners are the nicest people you could meet and are so helpful. Mostly shaded lots. Often lots of people enjoying putt putt and the nice pool. Close to Monroe Lake and Brown County State Park. We loved our 3 months here

Amazing campsite ran by wonderful people! Very clean and lots to discover. Put put golf was the highlight for the kiddos.

Truly a campgrounds of better quality than most! The owners are respectful, courteous, helpful and kind! I wish any campgrounds I that I have utilized in the past were close to being as well maintained in combination to the overall comfortable atmosphere. On-site water and sewer and never an issue with my electric or plumbing here. As a contingency plan I could always utilize the bathhouse located down near the pool, equipped with showers, sinks and commodes.
Conveniently located one mile from a gas station and perhaps the same distance from a Dollar general. Wi-Fi is better than any campgrounds I've ever rented. Pet-friendly, miniature golf course, small swimming pool, basketball courts, playground and a pool table!
Nobody gets wild and crazy out here and everybody seems to be very respectful. I will certainly be back! Big Thanks to the Owners!

Friendly place to camp. Love the Halloween weekend with all the kids trick or treating.

Wow. This might be a bit off the road but it was worth it as it was so quiet at dark. Very peaceful, but there were lots of families camping so we heard kids playing. We really slept well both nights. No road noise at all.

We almost didn't stay here because of the bad reviews, but rest assured this Campground has a new owner and he is great. He works hard and is very friendly. There are lots of improvements happening. When we set up, our stairs ended up on a bit of a slope and the owner brought us a big slab of concrete to use for a flat and level landing right away.

The campground has wide open lawns, and plenty of space to spread out instead of being right on top of your neighbors like most places. It is peaceful and quiet and the nearby town of Bedford has everything you could need.

Some amenities are still being repaired but the affordable price reflects that.

This place is amazing and the owners are wonderful! They are working so hard to make it even better than it already is! Can't say enough good things about Mike and Karen!!! This has been our home away from home for quite some time while we looked for a place to buy in Indiana! We will be back to visit you two. Thank you for a safe, quiet, beautiful place to park our camper while we were here! Definitely worth looking into if in the Bedford Indiana area. Lots of things to do here. And we will be back to rent one of your cabins! Oh and the putt putt course is amazing too!

The atmosphere is wonderful, so kid friendly and peaceful. The owners are great to the kids and adults. They are not nosey, and you are able to relax and enjoy yourself! Recommend if you are in the area looking for somewhere for you and the kiddos.

I camped here over the Fourth of July weekend with my immediate family as well as my sister and her family. We all had a great time. The grounds were well kept and when we ask for a fire ring and a picnic table they were brought to us immediately. The owner was very friendly with us and invited us to return which we will absolutely be doing. He provided fireworks that he paid for himself and we appreciated that.

Staying there now and it is small, quaint, and quiet. Extremely nice owner and beautiful place! Love it! Love how we can get our propane filled on site and the owner is wonderful! The pool is fantastic and so is put put.

Please ignore all the reviews that are over a year old. This place is under new owners and he has done a great job so far, he is working all the time to make it better. We stayed in the spring and had a nice site, clean and quiet. We plan on staying again soon. Close to Lake Monroe, mature trees, nice playground and shelter house.

Quiet, peaceful, relaxed environment. Beautiful nature setting with mature trees. Great playground, pool, and putt putt for the kids. We have enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

We stayed here for my son's wedding and Mike did a great job making sure we had everything. Weather wasn't great, but the campground was quite and nice. Mike is fixing the place up...so stop in and see him. Unless he ever decides to let me live my dream of owning a campground😂🤣

Great place! Very well kept. Mike and Karen are very pleasant and helpful with anything you need. There is no internet or cable services available yet but is a work in progress. There is very good cell reception (we have Verizon) for streaming from hotspot. Plenty of space between lots and each lot has a fire pit and picnic table.

Very nice place, very pieceful, the owner is a kind, and is always around to help. Great place to stay, highly recommend. Renovated pool, turned out great..Has done alot of up keep and its very comfortable place to camp, rest, relax..
