The Smelly Gourmet

Smelly gourmet's chili was just the right temperature and spices. Pairs well with Jarritos. They have a four legged greeter named Spooky who will walk you from the gate at the sidewalk to the door. Samples of their popcorn is given. Loved how they recycle items for their packaging. Geek gifts are available made from recycled computer parts. Worth the visit.

The food was great and would make the drive (over an hour) to just eat there again. I do not like coffee from anywhere but here. I tried my wife's just to see and it was so good I had to order myself one and I do not drink coffee but will try different ones. I think almost everywhere taste of burnt coffee beans and that is why I do not like coffee but that was not the case here. The popcorn was also great. The staff was super friendly and Smelly was very kind and welcoming to our group. If you are in the area you owe it to yourself to stop in and try anything here. This place made the whole trip so much better. It has been a while since we have been here and we still talk about the coffee and food from here.

The Smelly Gourmet is a wonderful gift shop in the quaint town of Metamora! Owners make you feel welcome the minute you come into the store. The hull-less popcorn is Amazing! We have been buying it for over seven years. Light and delicious. We drove over an hour to buy more popcorn. Worth the trip and once there try the popcorn.

Love the popcorn. Just received my order of three varieties. Just popped a pan full of the blue hull. Good stuff, way better than anything else you might find in the big box store. Get some here at Smelly's.

This is an awesome place to visit. My husband and I stopped in last Sunday. The chili is fantastic and the philly steak sandwhich was amazing. All the food is made by the owners, fantastic. The owners are great people and very welcoming. Bought home a jar of the chili mix and am fixing it today. It smells wonderful. We go to Metamora 2 - 3 times a year and will be visiting Smelly's on every visit. Would highly recommend you stop in for a visit and a bite to eat. Also check out the outside seating in the back. Very nice and relaxing. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. It is worth 10 or more.

Great friendly place to get a bite to eat. Specialty grilled cheese sandwiches. Tried the grilled cheese reuben. It was great. They also accommodated a gluten allergy by making the 'sandwich' without the bun. Pulled pork with two different cheeses. It was wonderful.

If you like popcorn, this is the place to get it.I never knew there were so many varieties. I'm told they have the best cappuccino east of the Mississippi. They also have a big selection of clocks made out of computer hard drives that were really cool.

Ate at The Smelly Gourmet today and it was wonderful!! We were met at the door with a free sample of their fresh popped popcorn to try while we decided on lunch. I had a caramel latte and my husband had a mocha latte, along with their unsweetened tea. He had a philly cheese steak panini, and I had a grilled cheese and bacon panini. It was all so delicious! And their homemade chips, fried to order, was amazing! When our bill came to us, on the open air back deck, they brought us a free sample of their caramel corn for dessert. We sat and chatted with the owners, and had an all around wonderful time. Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I went to Metamora for our 20th anniversary. We stayed in the Banes Suite owned by Steve and Brenda. It was an amazing experience. The place was extremely clean and we couldn't have ask for a better host. The Smelly Gourmet has the best cappuccino. These are fantastic panini's made fresh to order. I actually had the spam panini and it was wonderful! The bread is homemade and part of it comes from the corn grist across the street. The "Geek Art" shop is really cool. You can't imagine how the Gourmet has put all that stuff together. My spouse loved the flavored teas. The Colliers are great hosts. We took the Whitewater Train down from Connersville with no knowledge of the Gourmet, now we definitely want to come back. The highlight of Metamora.

This is not only a whimsical and entertaining place to visit, they also make the best gourmet panini sandwiches and you will be greeted with delicious popcorn to snack on while you wait for your meal. A very unique and enjoyable experience!

A fabulous COVID-compliant restaurant that allows you to eat supper without having to leave the Metamora shopping village. Because of their business model, you get your food order quickly so that you can spend more time enjoying the village of Metamora, Indiana.

What a fun shop! This is a great place to find cool souvenirs and gifts. Try the popcorn... it's yummy! The Smelly Gourmet is a must see stop when in the the area.

The food here is a perfect example of how delicious and wholesome food can be when it is handcrafted with artisan ingredients by someone who knows what they are doing and who truly cares about how he does it.

I had a Mocha Expresso (Real expresso, mind you. Not that crap you get at Starbucks) And a bacon and cheese panini with sweet pickle chips. The bread is handmade and the bacon and cheese blend well with the sweet acidity of the pickle chips.

Amazing food and coffee, good prices, and amazing people/atmospher. Can't go wrong coming here. Also a fun selection of arts n crafts, antiques, popcorn, and more in there shop.

This place has a unique atmosphere and the best panini I've ever eaten. As a bonus they often have live music on the weekends, excellent!

Went inside as a whim and discovered the best popcorn I’ve ever eaten! I think the bag I bought wasn’t big enough. Definitely will go back!!

Wonderful small restaurant and shop. Lots of neat things. Quaint atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Such a neat little place. Coffee is aaammmaaazzziinnnggg!!! Great place to eat!

Excellent popcorn that can't be purchased at a national chain store. The owner is extremely fun to talk to while you browse through the shop.
