The best New England chowder I've ever had, and we go to Cape Cod every year! Great drinks with a great beer selection!

We made it over to The Gateway for dinner on Tuesday night. This was our first time going and it did not disappoint. We both had burgers which were great and I'm a huge fan of their fries (extra crispy). I had the NE clam chowder and my husband had the buffalo wings. Both were great! I was even happier to see they have Lamarca prosecco! I can't wait to go back!

Don't be fooled by the outside or indoor decor... the food is fire. The chili is AMAZING. I went back a second time the weekend I was in LBI for more. In fact, I am craving it now. The wings are also delicious--the best I've had in awhile. They're perfectly crispy and meaty. No gross breading either.

It was casual dress. Shorts t-shirts and flip flops. The food was absolutely the best. The waitress was very good too. The live music was a guy playing the guitar. Which was loud for me, so we sat up on the other side in a more quiet area.

I got the buffalo chicken wrap and we had an amazing server Caryn was amazing!! She was super kind and cracked some hilarious jokes!! Best server there!! Great food!! And great waitress!! Thanks for the great service Caryn!!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We have been coming here for years just for their clam chowder in a bread bowl. Whether you choose the New England or Manhattan you are in for the most sumptuous, delectable soup you have ever had the privilege to taste!
Their calamari and pickle bite appetizers do not disappoint either.
Friendly, hometown environment and the staff are cordial and courteous.

Walked in to live music and a great atmosphere with lots of people. We were waited on right away and the appetizers we got came out fast and hot. If heading off the island a great place to stop before heading off or back home from the shore.

Clam chowder is the best, take out was quick, portions are large, and there were no leftovers .Been to L.B.I. many times over the years and this was the first time I have been there. We all loved The Gateway and we are going back in the summer

Went for lunch. Had a rueben melt, was really good. Mom had the vegan burger and gluten free bun, was raving that it was good also. Great pickles here too! Since the renovations at the end of summer 2018, the place looks like a upscale modern place inside. I like it, it's very modern. Food times still are a bit long, but food portions are worth the wait!

This Maine girl (who now lives is DE and hasn't been home in awhile) has been blown away by the tenderness of the Calamari and the clams in their New England Clam Chowder is worth winning 8 years in a row!! I haven't had seafood that makes me feel like I am home since moving away in 06'. You will want to get the quart to go, it IS worth it. (I came in, got it to go twice--lets hope it makes it home to DE)

If you want the best New England Clam Chowder get it here. Their New England Clam Chowder is so good that they got banned from Chowderfest with winning back to back Championship titles. I recommend picking up a frozen gallon for your family while visiting LBI.

Excellent jams! I was singing along allll night. Desperate for food and they were the only food establishment open after 9 pm and did not disappoint. Armando was a great waiter and catered to our needs. Next time I am in NJ I will definitely find myself here!

Hands down and without a doubt the best clam chowder south of Cape Cod. I'm talking about the white clam chowder, the red, the clear, well that's just soup.
Gateway's N.E. clam chowder is creamy and filled with fresh clams and potatoes!
Most of the time I buy 2 quarts (to go) because I know one quart is never going to make it out of the car!
The place has a nice bar and a nice selection on the menu. There is also a liquor store attached if you need a little something extra on your way to beach.

Great New England clam chowder, exceptional fried calamari, and good cocktails. I don't have a ton of comparison for chowder as I rarely find any that I'm willing to eat. Calamari I try everywhere; theirs was cooked to absolute perfection.

Love the Gateway! It’s an institution of LBI! Great place to hang - live bands -Karaoke - always something happening. Good food( chowda winner I believe) - they do a calamari ( not the usual way) and it’s AWESOME! Sorry forgot the name of it. But there’s two ways traditional and the other. Get 2 orders!! Bartenders always quick with drinks and wit! Love it! Ron the owner is the best!!

Nice bar, lots of tables , lots of big screens to watch your favorite sport.
Lots to choose from on the menu , from food to beer and cocktails. Very clean inside.
Nachos were great, fish tacos were great, burgers and the chicken Parmesan was delicious.
Big portions.
